Commercial HVAC Estimator The Commercial HVAC Estimator will be responsible for all take-offs, pricing, and producing the final estimate and/or budgets based upon conceptual documents, schematics, design development, design build and construction documents. The estimator must interface with other members of the project team(s) and complete a hand-off to Project Management once contracts are executed with all project details to be incorporated into the final work product. Swift Air Principles/Expectations:Play it Straight- Reliably do the right thing, even when it's hardEmbrace Accountability- Take extreme ownership of your actions and resultsContinuous Improvement- Be open to feedback for learning opportunitiesWin as a Team- We are always better as a team, working to achieve a common goalEssential Function:Estimate HVAC installation in both engineered and design/build Commercial Projects.Estimate and sell packaged rooftop HVAC equipment, split systems, Cambridge and MUA systems, piping and small chiller on occasion, new and revised duct systems including VAVs.Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare estimates.Perform detailed take-offs for equipment and material pricing.Distribute bid requests to all applicable vendors and subcontractors.Ensure estimates are completed and sent prior to deadlines.Communicate with vendors and suppliers.Review prints and details of projects with Estimator and/or Project Manager.Ensure all job specific instructions are shared with team to lead field personnel.Competencies Required:Ability to understand blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documents.Time Management and Prioritization, OrganizationProblem Solving, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, & Relationship BuildingThe ability to work both indoors and outdoors, includes exposure to weather elements and climbing ladders.Strong communication (Verbal and Written), problem solving and excellent customer service.General Business AcumenA valid driver's license and clean driving record.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Education/Knowledge/Skills Requirements (minimal):Bachelors in Construction Management preferred, not required.Extensive knowledge and mastering of all Foreman competencies required.Thorough knowledge of industry guidelines, installation procedures, and specifications.Extensive knowledge of all types of tools, equipment, materials and resources.Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.Work Environment:Construction SiteCustomer SiteAround other trades and heavy equipmentDangerous work sitesPhysical Demands:Ability to lift and carry 50-100 lbs.Ability to hear and see well.Ability to stand on your feet and bend for extended periods of timeMust be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work from platforms/scaffolding (using the appropriate fall protection requirements).Must be able to work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, wind) with appropriate PPE.Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:SalaryMon-Fri 700a-400pAbility to work longer hours if needed to meet customer deadlinesKPI's:Deliver superior service experiences to customers.Total volume of estimates completed.Provide clear and detailed work orders.Accuracy of materials and labor budgeted.Profitability of projects awarded.Proper labor productivity and hours applied to estimates.Make sure all jobs have up to date job costing and change orders.Manage multiple projects when assigned and maintain detail orientation.All interested candidates should attach an updated resume with knowledge, skills, and supporting education for consideration.
