Chief Information Security Officer

Our client is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to build and lead their security program from the ground up in a fast-paced, high-growth life sciences startup. This role requires hands-on expertise in security tool deployment, risk management, and regulatory compliance, particularly HIPAA.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.Deploy, manage, and optimize security tools to protect sensitive data and infrastructure.Establish and enforce HIPAA-compliant security policies, frameworks, and best practices.Lead risk assessments, incident response, and threat mitigation efforts.Collaborate with IT, legal, and product teams to embed security into development and operations.Build and scale a security-first culture through training and awareness programs.Requirements:10+ years in cybersecurity, with experience in startup or high-growth environments.Proven track record of building security programs from scratch.Hands-on expertise with SIEM, endpoint security, DLP, and cloud security.Strong knowledge of HIPAA, SOC 2, and other regulatory frameworks.Ability to operate strategically and tactically in a lean environment.
