PTS Advance has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for an entry level Estimator for our General Contractor client in Richmond, CA. This client is an industry leader in Water Infrastructure delivering both traditional design-bid-build and collaborative construction services throughout Northern California.Job Level : Entry Level (less than 2 years)Level of Education : BA/BSJob Type : Full-Time/RegularSalary : $95,000 USD Annually - $115,000 USD AnnuallyLocation: Richmond, CA. (local candidates preferred)The estimator must be eager to learn new construction tasks, like demolition and miscellaneous metals, with the potential to grow into process mechanical estimating. 2-5 years of experience in estimating or construction is preferred but not required.This entry-level role will support senior estimators with tasks like reaching out to subcontractors, managing data, and helping on bid day for water infrastructure projects. We want someone excited to be part of a growing team and willing to stay with us long-term. The job is based in our Richmond office.Duties and Responsibilities:Lead project execution, including project approach and deliverables.Manage contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.Build strategic partnerships with key clients and support business development efforts.Attend conferences, trade shows, and community events.Assist in project proposals, estimating, presentations, interviews, and preconstruction services.Promote safety on the job site and encourage safe work practices.Complete required company safety training.Attributes:Interested in working in the water market and improving sustainability.Skilled in managing various construction disciplines like earthwork, structural concrete, process mechanical, and electrical.Knowledgeable in mechanical process installation, materials, and equipment.Familiar with different types of pipes, valves, and process equipment.Understands earthwork in relation to underground piping.Passionate about construction and a strategic thinker.Overall Responsibilities and Authority:Manage project risk.Develop buyout strategy in collaboration with the Project Executive and estimating team.Handle project budgets, cost control, change management, resource planning, and financial projections.Lead scheduling in coordination with the project superintendent and trade partners.Implement quality control, safety, and environmental programs with the support of the team.Lead communication with project stakeholders and make recommendations for resolving issues.Supervise and coach Project Engineers, Field Engineers, Team Coordinators, and Project Accountants.Review the prime contract with the owner to understand rights and obligations.Ensure compliance with contract provisions to minimize risk.Reports to Project Executive.Experience and Skills:Must have Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.Strong organizational skills and a systematic approach to achieving results.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage diverse teams.Expertise in QSP, SWPPP, LEED, and sustainability is a plus.Familiarity with Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Primavera, Navisworks, Microsoft Project, and Viewpoint is a plus.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
