Company:One of the worlds largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum, with global brands enjoyed in more than 150 countries, is looking for a Project Engineer to join their team in Rockford, IL. Key Responsibilities:Propose changes to equipment or processes for material savings and improved efficiencies, and analyze plant operations to reduce downtime, utility consumption, and safety issues.Manage vendors, contractors, and plant personnel to ensure timely project completion, and maintain technical layouts of plant and production equipment on ACAD and 3D engineering database.Identify and implement changes to equipment to address safety and health concerns, and provide guidance for preventative and repair maintenance.Communicate with equipment vendors and manufacturers on technical specifications, project timelines, budget estimates, and price negotiations.Perform technical/engineering analysis to determine equipment specifications, capacity limitations, maintenance requirements, part design, and equipment layouts.Plan and execute projects within the facility while ensuring safety and food safety standards, and ensure projects are completed within budget and timeline requirements.Evaluate and select equipment suppliers to meet process and packaging needs, and provide recommendations for line layouts, operating logic, and capital requirements.Engage in continuous improvement and innovation in manufacturing processes, technology, and procedures.Requirements:Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (MBA Preferred).4-6 years of demonstrated leadership in a manufacturing environment.3-5 years of experience with Engineering Projects Management or Execution.Technical System Analysis, Design Skills, Technical Understanding, Process Improvement, CAD, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Preventative Maintenance.Knowledge of process equipment, including food ingredients storage, conveying of powders and liquid ingredients, continuous and batch mixing processes, extrusion, cooling, and coating processes.
