Senior Technical Architect

Seattle-based design firm with an established reputation for innovative and strategic thinking needs a Senior Project Manager to join its office in downtown Seattle. The firm practices in numerous project types, including workplace, commercial, retail, hospitality, residential, and product design. It rewards an entrepreneurial spirit, a collaborative attitude, and a business-minded perspective.  Required Qualifications10+ years of related professional experienceCapable of managing the complete construction drawing process, from design participation to team coordination (internal and consultant).Equally adept at hands-on Revit work (drawing and modeling) and leading/overseeing Revit projects and teams.Experience in multiple market sectors is preferred.Experience in single-family residential projects is highly desirable, as this role often requires a hybrid Project Manager/Project Architect skill set for these projects.Proven technical experience in mid-to-large scale shell and core projects - specifically envelope coordination and detailing. Experience in multi-family project types is advantageous.Extensive experience with Revit, Sketch-up, and a specification writing program.General knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office and In Design is preferable.General Firm ExpectationsExhibit high degree of self-motivation and enthusiasmContribute reasonable "sacrifice" (in the service of responsibility, accountability, and empathy to clients, projects, and teammates)Employ "rapid-prototyping" practices (producing multiple options quickly to facilitate problem-solving)Create client-oriented presentations so they "get it" and "want it"Convey firm "advocacy" both inside and outside the studioWork within a vibrant, high-energy environment and be adaptable to change regularly"Ideal" candidate should demonstrate the following skillset/knowledge base:Primary:Documentation and Coordination (Primary Job Focus) - to demonstrate a strong knowledge of current industry protocols as well as future directions regarding:construction document production and use of BIM and other software systemsconstruction document set assembly and possible alternative approachestechnical detailing - single-family residential and / or finessed interior detailing a plusspecification writingconsultant coordinationConstruction administration and means and methodsLEED and other sustainability approachesquality assurance for in-house and consultant work productLeadership - to collaborate in spearheading the technical development of the firm and work with firm leadership to define, refine, establish, and disseminate protocols and mentor staff.Design - to guide, inform, and coordinate the technical development of architectural and interior design efforts. Ability to have a holistic perspective on and sensitivity to space, systems, materials, color, texture, lighting, and furniture considerations.Secondary:Research and Continuing Education - to investigate industry advancements and consider appropriate implementation of firm protocols.
