This position is remote but the candidate must live in the greater Houston Area! Also Must have Ocean Freight Carrier Sales!!!!We are looking for a motivated and results-oriented Business Development Manager to lead our efforts in expanding carrier partnerships and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry, with a focus on carrier sales. This role requires a strategic thinker who can identify and develop new opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing carrier partners.Key ResponsibilitiesCarrier Relationship Development:Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, ensuring mutual growth and profitability.Develop strategic partnerships with regional, national, and global carriers to expand service offerings.Sales and Revenue Growth:Identify and secure new carrier accounts to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.Negotiate contracts and agreements with carriers to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.Develop and implement sales strategies to expand market share and drive business growth.Market and Industry Analysis:Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the carrier industry.Stay updated on competitor activities and emerging technologies in logistics and transportation.Provide actionable insights to leadership based on market analysis.Collaboration and Cross-Functional Coordination:Collaborate with operations, finance, and customer service teams to ensure seamless carrier onboarding and operational efficiency.Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align carrier sales strategies with broader business objectives.Reporting and Performance Management:Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, carrier performance, and revenue growth.Prepare regular reports and updates for senior management on carrier sales activities and outcomes.Develop and refine KPIs to measure success and identify areas for improvement.Qualifications and RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA is a plus.Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the logistics or transportation industry.Proven track record in carrier sales with a focus on achieving and exceeding revenue targets.Skills and Competencies:Strong understanding of carrier operations, freight management, and supply chain processes.Excellent negotiation, networking, and communication skills.Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.Other:Ability to travel as required to meet with carriers and attend industry events.Key Attributes for SuccessSelf-motivated and goal-oriented with a passion for driving results.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a dynamic environment.Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
