Mechanical (HVAC) Design Engineer 4+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCEWe are seeking a mechanical engineer to work in our Bethesda MD office. Projects include new construction and renovation in areas such as commercial, educational, retail, restaurant, multi-family, recreation, government and residential.Requirements include:BS or BAE in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering4+ years of experience in building HVAC and plumbing systems designFundamentals of Engineering/EIT certification with goal of obtaining PE LicenseProficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC softwareKnowledge of the current building codes and standards (IBC, ASHRAE, NFPA)LEED or green building experience a plus but not requiredPrimary responsibilities include:Designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systemsConducting existing condition site visitsUse of AutoCAD and Revit to prepare construction documentsPerforming HVAC load calculations and making equipment selectionsPerforming energy studies and life cycle cost analysisPreparing project specifications and technical reportsPerforming construction administration duties for projectsThis position requires the ability to work on several projects at once, so candidates must be self-disciplined and work efficiently. Creative solutions will often be required. Responsibilities include performing multi-discipline coordination within the office as well as interfacing effectively with clients and other members of the project time. Candidates should have strong communication, self-motivation and leadership skills.
