The company fosters a collaborative, respectful, and fun culture, ensuring a work-life balance while offering competitive benefits.Role Overview:As an Electrical Compliance Engineer, you will manage the compliance process for products, ensuring they meet the necessary standards, including UL, FCC, and CE markings. You will work closely with the production team to ensure testing is performed to the required specifications and represent the company during inspections. This role also involves maintaining safety testing labs and equipment, contributing to product design, and ensuring all products are safe for operation.Key Responsibilities:Evaluate new products for compliance with appropriate standards and develop test plans.Create submission packages for standards agencies.Establish preferred design practices to improve testing success.Collaborate with engineering, project management, operations, and sales teams to ensure timely listing approvals.Conduct testing for electrical safety, emissions, and susceptibility in-house or at test facilities.Identify design changes needed to meet standards.Complete necessary test reports and maintain compliance documentation.Serve as a liaison with standards agencies for testing and site inspections.Develop educational materials to assist the sales team in educating customers about standards and the listing process.Develop and maintain manufacturing test procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.Maintain a database with valid standards listings (UL, CE, etc.).Set up and maintain a compliance test lab to facilitate in-house testing and reduce external testing costs.Address issues identified in site audits and develop action plans to resolve them.Track component lifecycle and update submissions as needed to maintain listings.Establish and maintain corporate SOPs for standards compliance and product listings.Provide guidance during engineering design reviews.Apply best practices for system safety, including electrical and mechanical safety for non-listed .Other duties as assigned.Required Skills:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent.8+ years of experience in standards compliance engineering related to product development.Expertise in electrical safety testing and UL standards.Familiarity with the UL listing process and mentoring engineering/sales teams in best practices.Experience with CE, ROHS, WEEE, and other international standards.Proficiency in electronic testing equipment and troubleshooting system design issues.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with standards agencies and team members.Experience with on-site audit processes (e.g., UL inspections).Proficiency in UL website navigation, report merging, and document management.Strong writing and documentation skills for SOPs and product listing folders.Knowledge of manufacturing acceptance testing (hi-pot, ground bond, leakage current).Understanding of IEC Machinery Directive requirements.Desired Skills:Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) is preferred.Experience with UL 62368-1 standards.Experience with FCC Part 15 Subpart A.Travel:Occasional travel may be required (less than 10%).
