Controls Engineer

TRC is currently seeking a Power Systems Engineer to join their growing team. This is a full-time permanent position with a manufacturer that is located in Houston, TX. This role will be 100% onsite and will require up to 25% travel (Domestic & International). This person will be responsible for developing, testing, and deploying PLC and HMIs for power system automation applications.PLEASE NO C2C!**Create and develop Functional Specifications, including SOO (Sequence of Operations) and BOMs (Bill of Materials).Develop, test and deploy PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), DCS (Distributed Control System), RTAC (Real Time Automation Controller), IED (Intelligent Electronic Devices, Relays, Meters, Synchronizers, etc.) and HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) for Power System Automation Applications.Support Electrical Designers to develop project drawing packages.Develop Test Plans and support the execution of tests.Support loop checks, start-up and commissioning activities as required to successfully deploy Power System Automation solutions.Perform formal and informal customer training as required.Troubleshoot existing systems that may be malfunctioning.**Bachelor's degree in Engineering3-6 years of relevant controls experienceKnowledge of power system automation functions or similar.Hands on programming experience using Allen Bradley/Rockwell AutomationWorking experience with any of the communication protocols common in the Power IndustryTravel expectations are 25% for customer meetings, site visits and field duties.
