We have a Oil & Gas client seeking to hire a Field Project Planner / Scheduler to join their team based in La Porte, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering, validating, analyzing, and reporting construction progress while supporting project controls and construction management efforts.Industry: Oil & GasWork location: La Porte, TXWorkplace: 100% On-site (Project field-based, no hybrid or remote schedule available)Work Schedule: 50 hours a week / Monday-FridayPay rate: Hourly with 1.5x OTWork type: W2 ContractEstimated Duration: February 2025 - September 2025Benefits: Medical / Dental / Vision / Roth IRAPer diem: Not available (local candidates only)Key Responsibilities:Prepare quantity takeoffs for electrical and instrumentation components based on engineering drawings.Conduct routine field walkthroughs to validate physical installed quantities.Develop detailed progress reports in tabular and graphical formats.Support project controls and construction management teams with earned value management (EVM) reporting.Monitor and validate installed quantities reported by contractors and reconcile discrepancies.Assist in reviewing and updating construction progress reports.Provide schedule updates and recommendations during project meetings.Collaborate with home office staff to coordinate construction progress monitoring and reporting.Ensure adherence to company procedures and standards for project reporting.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.6+ years of experience as a project quantity surveyor or planner in construction.Strong understanding of engineering drawings and quantity takeoffs.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.Experience with EVM, progress measurement, and construction cost management.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a team environment.Previous experience in industrial construction projects within the industrial gases, oil & gas, or petrochemical industries.This is an excellent opportunity for professionals experienced in field planning, quantity surveying, and project scheduling to contribute to major industrial construction projects!
