Overview:One of the largest electrical construction firms in the Philadelphia area, with over 65 years of a proven reputation, is currently seeking a Project Manager as part of our growth strategy.Position Overview:Position Purpose: This position will be responsible for supervising, directing, and coordinating the construction of substations in the electric utility construction industry. The Substation Manager acts as the single point of management responsibility from business development to project pre-planning and responsible total construction administration services, participating in the development of processes, procedures, and systems to deliver projects to our customers on schedule and within budget.This position is part of the companys utility management team and is considered strategic within the organization. The position will report to the companys office in Huntingdon Valley, PA and could include both long and short-term remote field assignments, as determined by specified projects and the location of those projects.Major Job Elements:Manages overall project performance (safety, quality, scope, schedule, innovation, cost, communication, resource issues, risks and customer satisfaction). Within the utility fieldParticipate in substation design at all stages of project development, including concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility, detail design, procurement and construction, and also in substation asset management/condition studies Serves as single point-of-contact by establishing, maintaining and managing customer, subcontractor, and joint venture partners expectations (where applicable) relating to project performance.Reports project status and performance data as required to management.Ensure strict adherence to all Safety Policies, Procedures and Practices.Plans, monitors, and controls the project throughout its life cycle (Estimating, bid, contract award, engineering/design, procurement, and construction close out).At any given time could be involved in combinations of:Managing a major project within the substation constructionMentoring others.Assist in marketing and business development activities as required.Acts as sponsors to ensure substation projects are meeting expectations (safety, cost, schedule etc.)Qualifications5+ years of Substation Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related experience in the utility construction industryBS/BA in Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field preferredExperience with union jurisdiction and labor agreementsElectrical utility construction (distribution, substation, transmission line) expertise is preferredCarr & Duff, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
