SALES MANAGERPOSITION PROFILEThe Sales Manager is responsible for day-to-day sales and guest room reservations requests, with a focus on building long term, repeat and value-based customer relationships that enable the achievement of sales objectives. In addition, this role has the responsibility to achieve optimal occupancy and ADR growth to maximize total revenue while meeting/exceeding hotel profit objectives.ABOUT HOTEL GRAND STARKLocated within Portland's vibrant Central Eastside, Hotel Grand Stark embodies the independent spirit of the Pacific Northwest. If you're passionate about creating genuine connections, thrive in a dynamic hospitality environment, and find joy in elevating guest experiences, we invite you to join our team at Hotel Grand Stark.THE TASK AT HAND:Direct Sales:Develop appointment-oriented sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program, in accordance with goals established by departmental budget and marketing plan.Focus on growing/selling all segments by soliciting new and existing accounts to meet and/or exceed revenue goals and maximize profitability for the hotel.Establish target lists and attain annual room night and revenue goals.Responds to sales inquiries, initiates new sales, prospects and qualifies leads and solicits potential group clients, conducts site visits and answers questions, determines rates with Revenue, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, services accounts and analyzes lost business for the hotel.Direct the identification, sales efforts, and relationships with all clients.Assist in the integration of individual property efforts into the overall Palisociety strategy.Responsible for managing Marketing Opportunities for Hotel Grand Stark.Direct the efforts to gather and organize relevant competitive information.Accountable for total account management of all segments and servicing the requests of these accounts.Cultivate and activate the key sales strategies, tactics and action plans required to achieve financial targets.Understand the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and gain strong level of knowledge of competitive sets products and offerings, and know how to sell against them.Actively seek out critical information on market trends, segment behavior, and other data to make informed decisions and remain ahead of the pack.Must meet monthly KPI's as determined by Managing Director of Sale.Work with F&B department to book and drive events and catering sales in-line with budgetary goals.Work with corporate marketing team to develop campaigns and programs to support the sales endeavors.Revenue Management:Well-rounded understanding of revenue management and its relation to sales, including but not limited to:Market intelligence and trendsSales and Revenue StrategiesGeneral knowledge of revenue andreservations systems.Work with Palisociety Revenue Management team to develop effective pricing strategies, balancing seasonality, economy, customer segments, property objectives and customer satisfaction.Establish revenue strategy that supports the hotels positioning in local market; ensure demand forecasting and revenue practices are in place to maximize yield.Identify ways to grow occupancy, RevPAR, and market share by researching and staying aware of competitor strategies, control labor and capital expenses.Participate in revenue strategy meetings and monthly sales meetings.Collaborate with the Palisociety Corporate Team and Managing Director of Sales to create budgets, forecasts, and business plans.New Account Development/Key Account Management:Capture competitors accounts through networking & research to be able to target and solicit those most probable to generate new business.Continually targets and prospects for new business through telemarketing, individual creativity and innovation.Maximize current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer room night and revenue growth.Customer Service:Develop strong customer relations through frequent communication and the use of professional, courteous and ethical interpersonal interactions.Develop customer profiles and maintain an effective trace system, including trace dates and references, in order to best meet client needs, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues.Respond to and handle client/contact problems and complaints when required. Interface with clients/contacts and review feedback on service and overall satisfaction.Communication:Exhibit a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintain open communications with all co-workers for the best overall performance of the hotel.Clearly communicate the direction and purpose of all initiatives to all shareholders in the hotel operation to reinforce collaborative execution of goals.Interact with Sales and Marketing to ensure team and departments are updated on new programs, packages and industry events that could make for positive public relations coverage in the trade or marketing platforms.Maintain active liaison with competitors in region through personal contacts and professional associations.Reporting:Achieves activity goals as established by management and completes all reports and assignments in an accurate and timely fashion.Prepares sales metrics reports documenting sales calls, outlining opportunities, and identifying new bookings.Prepares monthly production reports for both group and transient business and F&B events and bookings.Community & Travel:Actively participate in community and industry organizations and travel where needed for client appointments or trade shows to benefit the collection's exposure to the community and bottom line. As necessary, attend out-of-town conventions to generate business. Hotel Leadership:Lead by example at all times and stay visible to the team.Be part of a leadership team of brand advocates who believe in what Palisociety and Arrive by Palisociety has to offer and who are personally invested in its success.Foster an environment where team members know they are valued, ensuring they are treated fairly and with respect.Assist in building a culture of open communication, spend time with team members and be available for them (open door policy).Continuously strive to improve and maintain client and guest experiences.Be a leader in managing the overall reputation management of the properties.Continue to give the brand a voice - naturally showcasing what the brand has to offer and its virtues to others (employees, leaders, owners).
