Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Dallas, TX. The Mechanical Engineer will apply engineering knowledge and skills for moderately complex manufacturing engineering projects focused on developing, testing, and improving mechanical systems and components.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFollow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirementsFollow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standardsFollow and commit to safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)Manage, prioritize, and complete projects or programs of moderate to large size, scope, and durationCoordinate project work with other engineers, technicians, designers and/or drafters to include managing and/or assisting with new equipment projects coming into the plantPerform feasibility studies for fabrication, assembly, machining, or processing. Understand and analyze production data to identify opportunities for improvementDrive industry best practices in the areas of reliability, production, cost, yield, quality, availability, utilization, and procedures/trainingGuide and assist the Maintenance team with assembly and disassembly of process equipment and components in order to diagnose issuesDesign and run experiments, create test parameters and participate in the testing, complete data analysis, as well as implementation of processes, equipment, and engineering solutionsTroubleshoot, analyze, identify, evaluate, propose, implement, and document engineering solutions which have a positive impact on plant performanceLead/assist problem solving discussions using the A3 method to find root cause to equipment failures. Mentor and train production employees in using the equipment correctlySystemize and document new and improved solutions by creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctionsCollaborate with production personnel and other departments to gather information and draft reportsLead continuous improvement projects to improve effectiveness and efficiencies of equipment by increasing throughput, reducing internal reject and reducing scrap ratesEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESBachelor's degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and three (3) years of related engineering experienceExperience analyzing production equipment, processes and materials and solving issuesKnowledge of various statistical and quality methodologies including but not limited to Statistical Process Control (SPC), Statistical Quality Control (SQC), 5S, 8D, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), and Design of Experiments (DOE)Prior experience working with thermoforming, injection molding, print, and/or paper equipment and processesKnowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various productsKnowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applicationsKnowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and modelsKnowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of productsAbility to successfully prioritize, and organize projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environmentsStrong verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information
