As an Automation Robotics Engineer, you will be responsible for the following key activities:Lead Automation Projects: Take charge of automation cell design and implementation, ensuring that all systems are optimized for performance, reliability, and scalability. You will lead projects from conception through to commissioning and beyond.Design & Development: Utilize your expertise in robotics to collaborate with cross-functional teams in the mechanical and electrical design of automation systems. Develop system concepts and provide input for equipment selection, integration, and system layout.Installation & Training: Oversee the installation and commissioning of robotic cells in manufacturing plants. You will also provide training to the receiving plant staff to ensure they are fully equipped to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain the new automation systems.Provide Ongoing Support: Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the robotic automation systems you help implement. Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting for systems post-installation, ensuring continuous improvement and efficiency.Drive Standardization: Work across multiple locations to establish and enforce automation standards across North America. You will work with internal teams and external integrators to ensure consistency in implementation and performance of automation systems.Collaborate with Integrators & Cross-Functional Teams: Lead and mentor integrators, ensuring that best practices are followed during system integration. Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, production, and IT) to align system designs with plant requirements and operational goals.Continuous Innovation: Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in robotics and automation technology. Implement innovative solutions that drive efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve production processes.Key Qualifications:Education: A Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in robotics are a plus.Experience:At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with robotic automation systems in a manufacturing environment.Proven track record of successfully leading automation projects from design through to implementation and post-installation support.Experience with robotic programming (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Universal Robots) and automation software.Technical Skills:Strong background in mechanical and electrical design for automation systems.Familiarity with PLC programming, robot programming, and vision systems.Expertise in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing automation systems and layouts.Knowledge of industrial control systems, machine vision, and conveyor systems.Project Leadership:Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead teams to successful outcomes.Experience coordinating with integrators, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery.Problem-Solving & Innovation:Ability to identify challenges and develop creative solutions to enhance automation processes and systems.Passion for staying at the forefront of technological advancements in robotics and automation.Communication & Training:Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a broad audience.Experience providing training to plant teams and ensuring successful system handover.Travel Requirements:Willingness to travel as required for project implementation, installation, and support.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with robotic cell design and integration for manufacturing plants.Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.Knowledge of networking and IT infrastructure for automation systems (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role with automation integrators.Why Join Us?Innovative Work Environment: Be part of a forward-thinking company that encourages creativity and values your input in driving technological advancements.Career Growth Opportunities: As a key member of our Automation team, you will have the opportunity to lead high-impact projects, build your expertise in the latest robotics technology, and develop your career within a global organization.Collaborative Culture: Work alongside a passionate, motivated team of professionals who are committed to innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.Competitive Compensation & Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, retirement plans, and opportunities for career development and certification.
