Alexander Rose are working along side a leading General Contractor in New York, is searching for experienced General Superintendents to join our growing heavy civil infrastructure project teams and run large scale, Billion dollar projects in the road / bridge market sector.Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):Advocates safety as number one priority on the jobsite and enforces compliance with company and jobsite safety plan and policies and all safety-related regulationsPartners with Estimating, Division Management and Project Management to supervise, direct, and coordinate management of construction projects, including direct liaison with owner, designers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient and orderly performance of the jobDevelops and implements production plans with budget goals in mindAssists Project Manager in the preparation of project status reportsResponsible for daily reports, progress reports, compliance reports and logsOversees the review of plans and drawings in accordance with contract documents and the coordination of shop drawingsProcures tools and materials needed for the project to ensure availability according to the work scheduleDetermines staffing levels and timing considering building methodology as well as the availability of tools and equipment for each phase of the construction projectRecruits, hires and directs the work of all company onsite field personnel in accordance with HR processes and proceduresPrepares or oversees submission of payroll to Payroll Department and all documentation required to comply with HR and Payroll policies and proceduresConfers with supervisory personnel and employees (with appropriate assistance from HR and Legal) to resolve complaints and grievances within the work forceWorks with supervisory personnel and employees, engineers, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and supplier of tools and materials to improve construction methods and resolve construction issuesEnsures construction schedules are adhered to by determining appropriate staffing levels and material and tool procurementUpdate P6 schedule when necessarySupervises and coordinates subcontractors to monitor their compliance with subcontract termsFollows and enforces company policies and proceduresCoordinates and oversees regulatory inspectionsQualifications Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience:High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred; minimum of 8 years of relevant construction experience preferredCurrent knowledge and ability to apply relevant local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHAAbility to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documentsAbility to communicate well both verbally and in writing and to present information to top management, owners, subcontractors, and other outside entitiesProfessional attitude and appearancePeople management skillsLeadership and management skills (see Superintendent Skill sets)Must be able to travel frequently by car and air to jobsites and prospective jobsites throughout the United States and to work out of town for significant periods of time when the job requires onsite supervisionMust be able to traverse construction jobsites in all kinds of work environments and weather to review work in progress, examine quality of work, and troubleshoot issuesWorks significant portion of day outside on construction siteMust be able to stand for long periods and work at heightsMust be able to work in all types of weather (including exposure to extremes of hot and cold) and in all kinds of work environmentsAble to lift/move up to 70 poundsAble to stand; crawl; climb ladders & stairs; balance; stoop and kneel; etc (physical activities associated with construction sites)Must be able to withstand for long periods of time noise, fumes, airborne particles, etc. associated with construction sitesValid driver's license
