If you thrive on solving complex challenges and shaping the future of sustainable energy, we want you on our team.Key Responsibilities:Electric Machine Design & Simulation:Design and optimize electric motors/generators for high-efficiency energy storage and power generation.Perform electromagnetic and magnetostatic simulations using FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, COMSOL, JMAG) to refine performance parameters such as torque, efficiency, and thermal behavior.Develop and validate detailed models for power electronic converters, magnetic components, and sub-systems to optimize performance under a range of operating conditions.Perform transient and steady-state simulations to identify and mitigate potential issues such as electromagnetic interference (EMI), heat dissipation, and voltage/current stresses.Power Systems Integration:Develop and maintain single-line diagrams and system schematics.Conduct load flow, short-circuit, and fault analyses to ensure safe and compliant grid integration.Design and optimize power electronics and power conversion topologies (AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC).Size and select power components (IGBTs, MOSFETs, diodes, capacitors, inductors, transformers) to meet system requirements.Conduct load flow, short-circuit, and protection studies for low- and medium-voltage systems.Collaborate on system-level design to ensure efficiency, reliability, safety, and compliance with relevant codes and standards (NEC, IEC, UL, IEEE).Prototype Development & Testing:Lead the product development cycle from concept through prototype and validation.Oversee fabrication and testing of prototypes, analyze test data, and iterate designs based on real-world performance.Identify opportunities to leverage advanced materials, manufacturing techniques, or novel topologies.Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with mechanical, control, and power electronics engineers to ensure seamless integration of motor design with system controls and overall powertrain.Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers to secure high-quality components.Documentation & Compliance:Prepare detailed design documentation, technical specifications, and test reports.Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards (IEEE, IEC, UL, etc.) and safety protocols.Create detailed engineering documentation including schematics, BOMs, test reports, and technical specifications.Participate in design reviews, providing technical expertise and constructive feedback.Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical engineers, software/controls engineers, product managers, and external vendors.Must-Have Technical Skills:Expertise in electric machine design (e.g., permanent magnet synchronous, induction machines) and associated electromagnetic calculations.Proficiency in FEA simulation tools for 2D/3D analysis.Solid foundation in power systems engineering, including the creation of single-line diagrams and performing load flow and fault analyses.Experience with medium-to-high voltage systems, power conversion (inverters/converters), and protective device coordination.Hands-on experience with prototype testing and data analysis using industry-standard instrumentation.Basic familiarity with control systems and programming (Matlab/Simulink, Python). ï‚· Proficiency with schematic capture tools (Altium, OrCAD, or similar).Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations (NEC, UL, IEEE, IEC).Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on data-driven decision-making.Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to clearly convey complex technical information.Preferred Skills & Experience:Advanced simulation techniques and multi-physics analysis (integrating thermal, structural, and electromagnetic studies).Demonstrated success taking motor/generator products from concept to production.Experience in vendor/supply chain coordination for custom component procurement.Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a focus on power systems or electric machine design.EIT/FE certification or PE licensure is a plus.Soft Skills:Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.Strong collaborative mindset and effective teamwork in multidisciplinary settings.Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and project management abilities.Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on emerging technologies.Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or related field) is required.Minimum of 2+ years of relevant engineering experience (8-10+ years for senior roles).Why Join Revterra?At Revterra, you'll be at the forefront of transforming energy storage technology.
