Lead ML Engineer - Perception | Autonomous VehiclesSalary - $200-260k🚀Join the Future of Autonomous Mobility🚀I'm partnered with an extremely well-funded, cutting-edge scale-up in the Autonomous Vehicles space that is redefining the future of mobility. This team is building next-gen self-driving technology that will transform urban transportation, and they're looking for a Lead ML Engineer to take their perception stack to the next level.What You'll Be Doing:Shape the future- Define and drive the technical vision for the perception team, influencing the company's autonomous driving roadmap.Develop cutting-edge perception algorithms- Design and implement advanced ML models for object detection, classification, segmentation, and multi-object tracking using sensor data from cameras, LiDAR, and radar.Sensor fusion- Integrate multiple sensor modalities to create a robust and reliable perception pipeline.Optimize for real-time performance- Adapt and optimize ML models for embedded hardware and real-time applications.Deploy at scale- Bring ML models from research to production, deploying them onto an autonomous fleet.Mentor and lead- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers on the team.What You Bring:MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Strong leadership experience in executing complex ML initiatives within autonomous systems or robotics.Deep expertise in deep learning and computer vision, with experience in at least one of the following: object detection, segmentation, multi-object tracking, sensor fusion, or end-to-end perception.Proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.Track record of developing production-ready perception models in real-world applications.Experience optimizing ML models for real-time embedded systems.Strong software engineering skills, including code optimization, testing, and deployment best practices.Excellent communication skills and a passion for solving complex challenges in autonomy.Bonus Points:Experience deploying ML models on autonomous vehicle platforms.Strong C++ and/or CUDA programming skills.Research contributions to top ML/AI conferences (CVPR, NeurIPS, ICML, etc.).Experience launching ML products from ideation to deployment.Why Join?Work with an elite team of AV and AI experts.Be part of a well-funded scale-up with industry-leading backing.Tackle real-world autonomous driving challenges with cutting-edge technology.Competitive salary, stock options, and comprehensive benefits, including:Medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company match.Unlimited vacation and company-wide holiday shutdown.Health and wellness programs, including fitness reimbursement.Mental health support and employee assistance programs.Parental leave and family planning assistance.Career development resources and internal mobility opportunities.If you're passionate about building state-of-the-art perception systems and thrive in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, this is the role for you.
