In this high-level role, you'll collaborate across teams and with external partners to design, prototype, and refine components using advanced 3D CAD and DFMEA principles. Your oversight of product configurations, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement initiatives will ensure top-quality instrumentation that powers industries ranging from aerospace to healthcare. If you thrive on shaping next-generation mechanical products in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment, we'd love to have you on our team.Essential FunctionsDevelop innovative new flow measurement and control solutions (e.g., sensors, proportional valves, flow bodies, laminar flow elements, enclosures) to expand mechanical product offeringsLead design assignments that can be broad in scope, requiring creativity and innovative thinkingGuide the design and fabrication of molded, welded, etched, stamped, machined, and extruded componentsEngage with external suppliers (such as machine shops, laser welders, chemical etch facilities, material vendors) to create design prototypesConduct DFMEA and review designs for manufacturabilityDevelop and interpret advanced 3D CAD designs using SolidWorksCollaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering to gather design requirementsConduct design verification and validation testing for newly developed productsSupport product design and redesign, including initiating and assisting with ECNs (Engineering Change Notices)Plan and execute design-related tasks to maintain project timelinesSupport continuous improvement initiatives, especially those that impact product qualityPlan and manage product test processes, collaborating with test engineers, manufacturing, and service teams to implement and validate these processes in production environmentsPerform other related duties as assignedQualifications - Education and ExperienceBS in Mechanical Engineering required; MS in Mechanical Engineering is a plus10+ years' experience in mechanical design or flow component/instrumentationBackground in manufacturing and assembly is beneficialProven ability to lead and make technical contributions within a multi-disciplinary teamStrong communication skills, especially when explaining technical concepts to cross-functional teamsExpertise in experimental design, testing, and analysis is requiredProficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and OutlookAbility to multi-task and adapt quickly to changes in priority/deadlines while working on several concurrent projectsTechnical writing skills for reporting and documentationAbility to create engineering standards and manage large-scale projectsFamiliarity with detailed technical drawings and specs, including reading and comprehension3D CAD modeling (including GD&T) and CAD database experience desiredASME B313 design experience is a plusExperience with MathCAD, Simulink, LabView, Python, or FEA analysis is a plusDesired background or training in areas such as: Process control instrumentation, Metrology, Data collection and analysis, Calibration, Fluid simulationWhat We OfferA rewarding career where your level of impact is only limited by your ambition.
