Electrical Field EngineerElectrical Construction Inspector- NYC tunnels rehabilitationOverviewThis position involves inspecting various electrical systems and components for an NYC tunnels rehabilitation project. This includes verifying compliance with plans and specifications and conducting quality control measures.Job ResponsibilitiesInspect electrical construction work as per the approved design drawings and the project specification, verifying existing conditions, work being performed, and completed work for quality, completeness, and accuracy.Prepare written documentation, including daily work reports, controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work.Review and mark plans and specifications as needed to ensure and track compliance with the work performed.Observe work conditions for compliance to applicable safety regulations.Ensure that the work is performed in compliance with the required PPEs and safety protocolsPerform quality inspections to identify any discrepancies or safety hazards.Report whether there were any incidents with full details.Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously; and follow through on tasks to successful completion.Communicate with various parties on the progress of the work in a timely manner.Collaborate with construction management teams to ensure compliance with local codes and regulations.Collect and analyze data related to electrical installations for reporting purposes.Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports for stakeholders.Monitor construction sites to ensure adherence to safety protocols during work.Ensure regular maintenance of equipment.Other related duties and tasks as required.Skills and ExperiencePractical experience in the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment.Strong analytical skills for effective data collection and research.Experience in quality control processes within the construction industry.Ability to conduct thorough construction inspections with attention to detail.Excellent communication skills for collaboration with contractors, engineers, and project managers.Organized and able to set priorities QualificationsMinimum of Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 6+ years cumulative experience with electrical systems.Basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to tunnel systems.Experience as resident engineer or hands-on (field) engineer with the ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documentsAdditional electronic security certifications preferred.Previous experience on tunnel projects preferred.
