Satellite Communications Engineer

PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Satellite Communications Engineer on a Direct Hire basis. This role is based out of Germantown, MD.SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Sr. SATCOM Engineer to design and implement SATCOM solutions that meet DoD customer requirements. This role involves evaluating and integrating SATCOM equipment, managing product configurations, performing system acceptance testing, and supporting business development efforts. The position requires direct engagement with U.S. government customers and the ability to obtain a security clearance.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze customer requirements and maintain the product roadmap.Lead evaluation, integration, and procurement of partner SATCOM equipment.Manage product enhancements, partner component configurations, and system integration.Oversee product quality and configuration management activities.Conduct system acceptance testing to ensure compliance with specifications.Design tailored SATCOM solutions based on customer and product requirements.Specify and procure necessary equipment and services.Perform engineering tasks including transmission planning, link budget analysis, network design, and technical briefings.Support RFP responses by performing requirements, compliance, and gap analysis.Assist business development efforts by providing technical expertise and program support.Required Skills3+ years of experience in network design.3+ years of experience ***** IP network design, addressing, and routing; M&C systems, SNMP architecture, and Network Management Systems; Communication systems design and implementation; RF/SATCOM system design, modulation schemes, and encoding techniques; spectrum management and planning.Experience working with U.S. government customers with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.Bachelors degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience, including military experience with complex SATCOM systems.Ability to travel up to 10%.Preferred SkillsExperience configuring and operating satellite modems and gateways.Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, power meters, and signal generators.Experience with SATCOM systems in COTP, COTM, maritime, aviation, and land-based environments.Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and work instructions.H1 sponsorship is not available.PeerSource is a nationwide technology recruiting firm that prioritizes building strong relationships with the talented professionals we are fortunate to serve.
