Conduct the day-to-day evaluation of quality of work per project plans and specifications and International Building Code (IBC). Must be certified by International Code Council (ICC) Special Inspection certifications and American Concrete Institute (ACI).ESSENTIAL DUTIES & **Perform inspection, observation, and material testing on construction projects. The scope of the projects will include, but not limited to, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Materials Testing, BMP Inspections, Utility Inspections and/or Roadway Inspection.Perform basic laboratory testing for soils, concrete, masonry and asphalt construction materials.Write Daily Field Reports - daily reports summarizing construction activity and documenting the work performed for that day. Specifically noting if any actions were deviations from the project requirements, plans, or specifications.Meet and follow all project safety requirementsTravel to and from job siteMaintain equipment in a clean and organized manner including calibration to industry codesRaised level of expertise with ICC certificationsQUALIFICATIONS & *High school diploma or GED, required. Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferredSpecial Inspector is designation for each level of certification **** Special Inspector General Requirements, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Spray-applied Fireproofing Codes and Plans, Prestress Concrete, Tall Mass Timber Buildings, Soils, Structural Steel and Bolting, Structural WeldingThoroughbred will provide training if you are willing to aggressively pursue certificationsCommunication Skills - work independently but also function as part of a team, requires strong verbal communication skills; required good written communication skills to create daily reportsPhysical ability - regularly lift heavy materials and equipmentComputer skills - use computers to write reports using software programsMathematics - use mathematical skills to verify measurements and study blueprints.
