About the CompanyOur Client is a nationally recognized electrical power and control systems engineering firm and is seeking a qualified Electrical Power Engineer focused in protection and control in Alpharetta, GA, to aid the growing electrical power offerings.About the RoleA short paragraph summarizing the key role responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesDevelopment of settings files for SEL protection relays and other similar devicesDevelopment of settings files for SEL RTACs, including data concentration, HMI, and logicIntegrating electrical SCADA information with OSI AspenTech or similar platformsPerform onsite programming, field testing, and commissioning of electrical protection, control, and SCADA systemsDevelopment of comprehensive electrical construction packages sufficient for installation of protection, control, and SCADA systemsMaintain detailed documentation of relay settings, RTAC configurations, and system integration processesProvide best possible response after hours support for internal/external clients as occursWork with applicable Project Manager(s) to ensure overall quality of commercial deliverables, budget maintenance, etc. Keep the Project Manager(s) informed of technical progress, issues, need for change orders, etc.Assist Project Manager(s) in developing cost estimates and proposals for new project opportunities - providing technical expertise and guidance in applying cost to labor, expense, and procurement itemsTravel +/- 40% with willingness to travel via airQualificationsBachelors Degree in Electrical EngineeringFundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam CompletionRequired Skills4-8 years Experience with programming and configuring SEL RTACs, including developing HMI interfaces, logic, and data concentrator functionalityExperience in integrating electrical SCADA system with knowledge of OSI AspenTech or similar platforms for real-time monitoring and controlExperience with electrical power relay settings generation and implementation - GE Multilin and SEL preferredIn-depth knowledge of communication protocols such as DNP3, MMS and GOOSE & familiarity with IEC 61850 family of standardsExperience in the development of electrical construction packages comprised of at least the ***** Single Line DiagramsThree Line DiagramsSchematics/Elementary DiagramsInterconnection DiagramsLogic DiagramsKnowledgeable of the requirements detailed in National Electrical Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and IEEE 3000 Series (formerly known as color books) preferredExperience with power system modeling tools - ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower preferredAdept at the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
