DIRECTOR OF STRATEGY & OPERATIONS:Hurray is making seriously unserious brands. Launched in Los Angeles in September 2024, we take an outrageous approach to beverages. Our first-born is Hurray's Girl Beer, the beer to out-girl all beers - flipping the pre-existing cultures of the beer category through some diabolical anti-branding. Jk though, we actually seriously need your help and this could be the job for you:We're looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial leader who will help keep the show moving day-to-day and help build our infrastructure from the ground up - all within a fast paced, ever-changing work environment. The Director of Strategy & Operations will plan, oversee, and manage the full spectrum of production, sales, and business operations for the company. As we grow our presence in major chain retail, this is a priority for the company. This role involves creating and implementing an overarching operations strategy for the company to improve efficiencies and profitability, and building and leading the operations and production teams in the long-term. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in scaling operations within a fast-paced environment"”preferably in food & beverage, consulting, or investment banking "”and excels at building cross-functional teams, and implementing robust systems. Success in this position demands strong analytical capabilities, hands-on leadership, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly cross-functionally. I promise you'll "strategize" a ton because I know that's really what you're wondering.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Here are the annoying details of what this looks like in practice:Production & supply chain strategy and management: Oversee planning, sourcing, and execution to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.Manage raw materials and finished goods, maintaining rigorous quality standards and preventing shortages. Build strong vendor relationships, attend production runs, and negotiate favorable terms to optimize gross margins.Business operations: Implement CRM and inventory management tools to enhance collaboration between Production, Sales, and Finance. Assist in talent acquisition, establish HR guidelines, and ensure adherence to alcohol regulations and licensing. Collaborate with the CEO on budgeting, maintain direct-to-consumer merchandise channels, and manage seeding/sample programs.Sales operations: Monitor AP/AR with accounting and coordinate with distributor partners to ensure product gets to retail. Coordinate brand ambassador schedules, maintain stock levels, and facilitate weekly check-ins to drive sales and brand presence. Develop processes and tools to support efficient distributor operations and in-store merchandising.REQUIREMENTS:A Bachelor's degree (Business, Finance, or Management preferred)A minimum 5+ years of experience in a related role overseeing consumer startup strategy, consulting, finance, supply chain, operations, or productionPrevious management experience (this role will build out operations team in long-term)Proficiency in data analysis tools and advanced Excel skillsExceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approachExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teamsDemonstrated presentation skills at the Executive levelProven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAbility to travel to Los Angeles (hybrid role)Willingness to travelNot named Connor
