Overview: The Division Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of a designated set of convenience stores and gas stations within a particular region (approximately 60 to 90 locations). This role is crucial in upholding retail excellence, leading a team of district managers, and implementing strategies to drive operational improvements and increase sales. A key responsibility is building a culture of leadership within the industry in all of companies competitive markets. The Division Manager is accountable for driving sales in the region, collaborating with the Category Management and Merchandising teams, empowering store teams to boost sales and customer experience, and setting an example by embracing change and achieving results.Primary Responsibilities:Manage a team of six to eight District Managers within a region, setting performance expectations and benchmarks, providing coaching and feedback, and creating opportunities for employee development.Supervise District Managers in areas such as operations, marketing, HR, expense management, inventory control, safety, security, and regulatory compliance, helping them become well-rounded retail leaders.Identify sales opportunities and create strategies to improve performance in all product categories.Collaborate with other division leaders to manage costs effectively and implement performance improvements across operations.Develop and maintain strong relationships with Support Center teams, including HR, Maintenance, Category Management, Merchandising, IT, and others.Assume responsibility for the profit and loss for all facilities within the division.Monitor site-level expenses like labor, utilities, and supplies, identifying opportunities for optimization.Ensure that cash and inventory controls are properly implemented and that discrepancies are handled appropriately.Utilize financial data, such as PDI reports, to assess performance and inform decision-making at assigned locations.Collaborate with the support center team to develop and execute merchandising strategies, including promotions, pricing, and store remodels.Work with the team to establish long- and short-term plans, set objectives, and manage budgets.Manage the budget for retail store operations in alignment with company goals.Evaluate and implement systems to address operational and legal compliance issues.Develop strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and improve the foodservice offering.Lead by example to support store teams, creating a culture of ownership and accountability.Provide staff with the tools and resources needed to foster continuous improvement and promote profitable growth.Perform additional duties and projects as required by management.Qualifications:At least 10 years of experience in managing high-volume, multi-unit retail, convenience store, fuel, or QSR operations.A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is preferred.Proven experience in progressive management roles, with increasing responsibility and direct reports.Strong track record as a proactive, strategic, and efficient leader.Experience working with back-office systems, POS systems, and reporting tools.Familiarity with PDI is an advantage but not a requirement.Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and exercise judgment in operational matters.Strong problem-solving and leadership skills, especially in crisis situations.Knowledge of convenience store and foodservice equipment, as well as sanitation and environmental standards.Ability to manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to travel and stay overnight when necessary.A valid driver's license.Ability to provide proof of authorization to work in the U.S. upon receiving a job offer.
