Position OverviewThis is a full-time first-shift role for a Lab Technician at Spirit Electronics located in Phoenix, AZ. The Lab Tech will play a vital role in the reliability lab for the inspection, testing, and analysis of microelectronics, semiconductors, EEE components, and circuit card assemblies. The Lab Tech performs testing and operations, including sample preparation, setup, testing, data recording, analysis, and reporting. Tests include MIL-STD-883 test methods, JEDEC, and other industry-standard procedures as well as customer-specified requirements. The Lab Tech will operate electrical test equipment, environmental chambers, and inspection equipment (X-ray, CSAM, SEM), and record results for analysis to meet the requirements established by the lab's engineers. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to work efficiently in a quality-minded manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for the data collection and analysis on samples and reporting them out to the engineering teams. Lastly, this role will be responsible for maintaining supplies, equipment calibration and meeting the customer delivery dates.Essential Job FunctionsConduct reliability testing on electronic components according to MIL-STD-883, relevant industry standards, and work order specificationsPerform electrical, mechanical, environmental, and inspection tests on components and assembliesOperate reliability equipment, environmental chambers, and other lab machineryDevise voltage biasing and current monitoring on jobsSet up burn-in drivers, programmed drivers, and test boardsMaintain assets under preventative maintenance and periodic calibration cyclesBench test boards and hardwareOperate workflows, processes, and machinery to quality management requirements and documented proceduresCollect, record, and analyze test data utilizing specialized software and ERP systemAssist in the preparation of test samples and fixturesMaintain accurate and detailed test logs and reportsCollaborate with engineers to interpret test results and troubleshoot issuesEnsure compliance with personnel and product safety protocols, including ESD and FOD control and other quality control proceduresAssist in the development and improvement of testing methodologiesSupport the lab in maintaining a clean and organized work environmentCollaborate with engineers and other technicians to increase efficiency and reduce errorsRequirements3+ of experience in electronics and semiconductor testing or related fieldBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, engineering, or related field preferredExperience with MIL-STD-883 and JEDEC stress tests, environmental testing, and test flowsExperience with bench test apparatus, oscilloscope, power supplies, and logic analyzersExperience with burn-in board drivers and programming desirable, non-destructive testing a plusExperience in reliability stress techniquesExperience working within quality and manufacturing standards, such as AS9100Knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge Control, FOD Control and product safety practicesKnowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
