David Mason + Associates' is expanding and we want YOU to grow with us! DMAs Civil Team provides general site-design and land development coordination to large-scale projects. With over 35 years in business & a long history of working relationships in St. Louis, Chicago & Philadelphia, we are excited to grow into Tampa!Our newest office is looking for a Licensed Civil Engineer with previous design & Project Management experience on utility-scale solar projects across the nation. This role involves supporting our established teams and contributing to ongoing projects out of Chicago and/or Philadelphia, as we expand our presence and forge new relationships in the region.Beyond design work, you will have the chance to enhance your skills in collaboration, project management, leadership, and client engagement. This role involves working on multi-disciplinary projects, mentoring junior engineers, and participating in marketing and business development efforts by building client relationships and preparing proposals.Our ideal candidate holds a Bachelors Degree, has 8+ years of related engineering experience, a minimum of 4 years in civil site design and holds a Professional Engineering License in the state of Illinois. Prior experience with HEC RAS & Civil 3D is REQUIRED.Responsibilities include oversight of the development civil engineering plans and activities, support of regional business development initiatives, scheduling, and coordination of personnel and workload delegation. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day design activities and oversee technical design, contract document production, quality control, permitting, shop drawing review, field inspections, and project closeout.Experience with project management, tracking, and billing software is beneficial. This position requires travel to job sites, meetings, and occasional travel to other offices.Why work for David Mason + Associates?Every-other Friday OFFHybrid schedule & flexibility70% employer paid Health benefits401(k) Option with 3% Company ContributionPaid Parental Leave"Family-first" company cultureMinority-Owned Business EnterpriseProfessional Development AssistancePlus, more!!Essential Duties:Serve as Senior Civil Engineer, prepare & implement design calculations, analysis and permitting on all assigned projects & sites.Review client requested proposals or plans to determine procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment of available resources for all phases of each project (estimating, scheduling, design, permitting, construction support and close-out).Supports and develops project proposals through establishing, delegating, and performing the outlined work plan, assignments and staffing for each phase of assigned project(s), including, but not limited to durations, hourly rates, budget, and schedule.Serve as primary contact for exchange of project information and communication between the firm and the client, with the support of senior staff.Complete and review status reports and monitor intermediate and internal design reviews, such that documents adhere to the firm's standards for completeness, quality, and accuracy.Ensure compliance with the client's standards.Prepare project reports and schedules for management and client requests.Ensure that all forms and scoping documents are complete and available for project team consumption.Direct and review approach used by project staff in completing assignments.Confer with other project managers and senior project staff to ascertain coordination, completeness, and accuracy of critical technical and non-technical requirements.Provides technical support or clarification on questions from the client, or members of the project team.Write technical reports, memos, or other correspondence that conform to the prescribed style and format of the client and the firm. This may include final exhibit reviews and legal descriptions based on division and state requirements.May sign/seal drawings or other required documentation based on division and firm policies.May support Division Recruitment efforts including participation in virtual & in-person interviews.May provide mentorship and support initial new hire and ongoing training as applicable or assigned.Support marketing efforts through technical writing in response to RFQs and RFPs.Monitors new technology, evaluates, and recommends purchase of new equipment, software, and supplies.Follow and abide by the DMA employee and safety manuals.Other duties as assigned.
