About the Company - Our global client is seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator and Operating Systems Administrator to join their dynamic team. This is a 12+ months contract role and will be on-site. Candidates local to Boston and surrounding areas are encouraged to apply. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa now or in the future.About the Role - As an Oracle DBA & OS Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining large-scale, highly available distributed Oracle systems. You will collaborate with global teams, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and drive innovation in database architecture, performance tuning, and scalability.ResponsibilitiesEnsure the stability, performance, and security of Oracle database instances.Collaborate with global teams on development, maintenance, and optimization projects.Research and implement new technologies to improve database performance and scalability.Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies.Troubleshoot critical issues under pressure and implement long-term solutions.Manage supporting infrastructure, including operating systems, hardware, and networks.Assist with database migrations, particularly involving MySQL and MS SQL.Qualifications - Strong experience with large-scale, high-availability Oracle databases.Required Skills10+ years of expertise in performance tuning, backup/recovery, and database scalability.Deep understanding of UNIX/Linux operating systems, including system calls, memory management, and debugging.Experience with MySQL and MS SQL databases, particularly in migration scenarios.Preferred SkillsAbility to quickly learn new technologies and work independently.Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to perform under pressure.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with global teams.
