Information Technology Portfolio Manager

MGT is seeking an experienced IT Portfolio Manager to fill a temporary assignment for our client in Tucson, AZ ,Selected candidate will be an employee of MGT for a 12 months with services contracted with our client. This position may be temp-to-hire for the right candidate.Position OverviewThey are looking for someone to help them establish a portfolio management system using the process map they have pre-defined and existing list of demand; hands-on portfolio coordination and process established; and processes/system fully established for portfolio management across stages (more focused on project tracking and approvals vs. financial planning).Position : Portfolio ManagerDuration: 12 monthsLocation : Tucson, AZ ( 5 days Onsite in a week )Required Skills: Establish clear means to stop at stage gate in I-C Need clear process and person identified in how this is communicated back, confirm partners know, and prevent re-submission. Take over all the meetings related to this process Establish queues in each state, max items in queue, time forecasting. Add visuals and better management of backlog, WIP, throughput. Ensure all grants captured and added into ingestion list. Clarify to IT and other staff that just being in the phase is not same as being active (there will be a backlog and process to keep backlog clear at each stage) Eventually add metrics for each phase, etc. Security & Compliance Ensure IT portfolio items have Cybersecurity review Notate IT portfolio items that have a compliance aspect Ensure City GRC teams have a dashboard for GRC items in the portfolio Notate IT portfolio items that are a part of the Zero Trust program Financial Ensure BSD has clear process for identifying cost centers requiring ITD approval, process for signoff, log of signoff and is fully in place (preventing unauthorized technical spend against standards) Ensure FY26 includes all recurring funds to be moved to ITD (regardless of whether moved in FY25 or already spent by dept) Ensure 5 yr investment plans for new proposals (use our new template, materials captured, items logged in Adaptive as directed by BSD) Oversight of all other funds transferred or otherwise restricted for spend - Safer City, Enterprise Funds, Grants, etc. Resourcing Add Resource mgmt (projecting resources vs demand, matching people to work, forecasting) Metrics and reports on demand vs capacity (for ELT / staffing request and level set demand load) Tie in project resource and operational resource to allow single view for workers with SAFe approach Align with City portfolio plan / MS Project Online FY 26 Technical Portfolio Investment Plan (for Tim) Other improvements as needed
