Estimator As an Assistant Estimator you'll be the person the Project Estimator trusts to review project specifications and establish pricing guidelines. It can be challenging to analyze materials, schedules, and vendors, but completing a project and seeing the client's smile makes it all worth it. Matern Staffing is hiring an Assistant Estimator for a specialty residential construction firm in Stafford, Va. The Assistant Estimator collaborates with the Project Estimator to gather and analyze material and labor costs to estimate project costs. This is a contract-to-hire position and open for anyone with previous experience or to a motivated candidate wanting to learn something new. What You'll ***** Reviews project specifications and blueprints Meets and collaborates with clients, engineers, and other staff to understand the projects Drafts cost estimates for projects based on building material/labor analysis and research and distributes reports to engineers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders Drafts project completion timelines What You'll ***** Ability to read blueprints is preferred Previous construction familiarity preferred Enjoy learning how things work and have a curiosity for brainstorming process improvements and finding/implementing solutions Exceptional verbal, written and communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates and customers Strong attention to detail with great follow-through to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness Positive self-starter with a proactive approach, excellent time management, and prioritization skills Strong computer skills in MS Office and QuickBooks to ensure accurate and efficient record keeping ***** $37,500.00 - $42,000.00 per year About our ***** For over 35 years our client has provided speciality construction solutions for residential and commercial construction.
