Our Client, a Global Investment Bank, is seeking a Sr. Regulatory Specialist in their Jacksonville, FL location. Overview: This role is responsible for analyzing data used in regulatory report submissions to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of banking, with experience in regulatory reporting considered a plus. The position requires in-depth analysis of data elements, research using metadata tools such as lineage and critical data element databases, and the preparation of Excel and PowerPoint presentations summarizing findings. The role also involves written communication with management and project stakeholders to present insights in a clear and concise manner.Responsibilities:Analyze end-to-end data flows and maintain large datasets related to data elements, reports, schedules, and adjustments performed in financial and regulatory reporting. Identify inefficiencies, inaccuracies, and control issues through data analysis.Conduct root cause analysis of identified issues and propose tactical and strategic process improvements to enhance the accuracy and quality of financial and regulatory reporting.Work with metadata, including critical data elements and data dictionaries, ensuring content is maintained accurately within relevant platforms.Independently manage workload and project timelines, proactively escalating risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID) as needed.Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal teams, including Operations, Business Finance, and Financial Reporting, to support legal entity and regulatory reporting efforts.Support regulatory reporting change initiatives by collaborating with stakeholders and contributing strategic insights to Finance and other business areas.Work closely with change management teams to implement strategic projects impacting financial and regulatory reporting.Skills & Requirements:3-7+ years of experience in banking, preferably in financial or regulatory reporting within a global investment bank.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and time management.Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to management and stakeholders.Basic knowledge of accounting principles in banking, particularly within regulatory reporting functions.Experience working with data analytics tools, databases, and data warehouse management.Understanding of banking products and balance sheet items, such as loans, trading assets, deposits, and other financial instruments.Familiarity with general ledger systems (e.g., SAP) and banking operations.Education & Additional Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with additional data analytics tools is a plus.Prior experience in an accounting firm or finance role within a financial institution is preferred.Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication on project direction and deliverables.
