This organization is a leading independent producer of renewable energy, specializing in the development, ownership, and management of renewable power projects throughout North America. They oversee a portfolio of over 1,400 MW of operational renewable energy assets in Canada and the U.S., with an extensive pipeline of over 20 GW of wind, solar, and energy storage projects under development in the U.S. Position OverviewThe Site Manager will take charge of the daily operations at a 150 MW solar facility located in Winfield, Missouri. Operating from the O&M building in Lincoln County, Missouri, the role involves direct management of on-site third-party contractors and potential future oversight of internal staff. This position requires working closely with various internal teams, including asset management, engineering, land, and finance, to ensure the successful implementation of business and operational objectives.Reporting to the Vice President of Operations & Asset Management, the ideal candidate will possess proven leadership skills, a safety-first mindset, strong technical capabilities, and experience in managing renewable energy systems, particularly in high voltage environments.This position is based full-time in Lincoln County, Missouri.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage the daily operations of company-owned renewable energy facilities, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.Lead by example to foster a strong safety culture, promoting the well-being of all project personnel.Supervise and coordinate the activities of third-party solar O&M contractors.Ensure that plant operations are managed within the approved budget and financial constraints.Implement effective maintenance schedules and programs to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.Manage warranty claims, vendor relationships, and provide support for any insurance-related issues.Assist in the preparation and management of the annual operating budget for the facility.Represent the solar farm within the local community, nurturing positive relationships with landowners, public officials, and nearby residents.Oversee vegetation management and other site-specific tasks for leased properties.Be available to work extended hours, especially during unplanned outages or emergency situations.Qualifications & RequirementsAt least 5 years of progressive experience in renewable energy operations, with a strong focus on large-scale projects.Expertise in on-site solar plant operations, including contractor oversight, maintenance planning, inventory management, SCADA and monitoring system management, technical troubleshooting, high voltage switching, and safety compliance.Extensive knowledge of OSHA safety regulations applicable to the renewable energy sector and proven leadership in creating a safety-conscious work environment.A high school diploma or GED is required; a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of managing both internal and external teams.Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools, including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint, and experience with managing budgets, spreadsheets, and purchase order systems.A collaborative team player with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.Authorized to work in the U.S. and willing to travel to Canada when necessary.
