This job is with a company that specializes in custom engineering of automated solutions for various industries, such as packaging, material handling and more. Responsibilities & **· Design custom automated systems tailored to diverse environments while adhering to cost and labor constraints.· Collaborate with the Applications Engineering team, Sales, and other departments to develop project feasibility plans and establish a clear path to success.· Oversee the conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical systems and components, ensuring alignment with project requirements and specifications.· Use CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed designs, drawings, and models for mechanical components, assemblies, and structures.· Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and design reviews to validate the viability and effectiveness of proposed mechanical solutions.· Partner with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, shop technicians, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into overall project designs.· Communicate technical requirements, project timelines, and design considerations effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.· Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.Minimum *· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or 10+ years of relevant industry experience.· At least 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specializing in machine/system design, development, and integration.· Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and occasional use of simulation tools.· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and deliver effective solutions.· Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.· Proven leadership skills, including experience managing cross-functional teams and driving project success.Preferred ****· Advanced degree (Master's in Engineering, MBA, or related field).· 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, focusing on machine/system design, development, and integration.· Background in a custom automation integrator or machine builder environment.· Experience mentoring or managing junior engineers to foster talent development within the organization.
