Aries is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to oversee various capital projects for a pilot facility recently constructed and commissioned in Linden, NJ. The facility is an integrated domestic sludge gasification plant that consists of four plant unit operating systems, i.e., a sludge drying plant, a fluidized bed gasifier, heat generation and recovery plant and an emission control unit. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, this person will be required to travel to the Linden site very often as deemed necessary (stationed in the area is preferred). Responsibilities will include the following:Oversee the planning, design, and construction of capital projects to ensure they meet the organization's strategic objectives, budget, and timeline.Develop and manage project budgets, including cost estimates, funding allocations, and financial reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility and accountability.Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met and to resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.Implement risk management strategies to identify potential project risks, assess their impact, and develop mitigation plans to minimize disruptions to project schedules and budgets.Facilitate the procurement process for services and materials, including preparing bid documents, evaluating proposals, and negotiating contracts to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with procurement policies.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and codes related to construction, environmental protection, and worker safety to avoid legal issues and ensure the well-being of all project participants.Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and changes to ensure transparency and alignment with organizational goals.Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes, identify lessons learned, and integrate findings into future project planning processes to continuously improve project management practices.Education & Experience Requirements: Master's or bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, construction management, project management, or business/management and at least 5 years of project management , project management, business/management, construction management, or construction technology and 8 years of related project management experience.(Preferred) 5+ years working experience in operating facilities or related industries with one or more of the following processes: solids handling and solids processing, power generation, wastewater treatment, materials drying, gas processing.Other Qualifications:Knowledge of PC & computer-based scheduling and financial tools, including (e.g Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Communications (written & verbal): creates reports, designs, and conducts presentations at all levels of the Corporation.Managing capabilities prioritizes, delegates & manages time and workflow effectively.Analytical & decision-making abilities makes decisions systematically; anticipates and mitigates problems and understands decisions business implications.WorkingConditionsandPersonal Attributes:Safety conscious attitude; knowledgeable in appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Must be able to function well in a fast-paced environment under demanding deadlines and changing priorities and conditions.Ability to work in an outdoor plant environment and around operating equipment.Ability to climb equipment ladders to access elevated platforms in a vertical plant.Comfortable with prolonged periods standing and walking.Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility and work independently with minimal supervision.Capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 poundsEffective written/verbal communicationAble to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Assertive self-starter who takes initiative, is versatile, and possesses a service-oriented mentalitySelf-motivated to accomplish the individual and company goals and objectivesRequired to use personal protective equipment as required by site or regulatory policy and procedure.Collaborative team member (e.g. ability to contribute as a team member through a positive "can-do" attitude).Disclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
