GIS Analyst - Utility-Scale Solar & Energy StorageAn opportunity as a GIS Analyst for a leading renewable energy company focused on the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects, energy storage and emerging technologies.Location:Houston, TX - HybridPosition OverviewWe're hiring a GIS Analyst to play a key role in developing utility-scale solar and energy storage. This position will support the project development, land, environmental and engineering teams by providing geospatial insights, mapping expertise, and data-driven decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.The ideal candidate will have astrong GIS background and a passion for renewables. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy solving complex spatial challenges, we want to hear from you.ResponsibilitiesConduct spatial analysis to support site selection, land acquisition, interconnection, and project development activities.Utilize GIS tools and techniques to analyze geographic data, identify suitable sites for solar installations, and assess environmental factors.Create high-quality maps and visualizations to communicate project-related information effectively.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and consultants to integrate GIS analysis into project planning and decision-making processes.Provide mapping support for solar and battery storage project development activitiesDevelop and improve system workflows, and automate tasks to best support the development teamParticipate in weekly team meetings to provide technical support on projectsRequirements2+ year of GIS experience, preferably renewables, energy or environmental.Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, computer science, or similar fieldAbility to be creative and problem-solve unique problems from a technological and spatial perspective.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent analytical skills, written and oral communication skills, and attention to detail with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
