EPC Project Manager80% Remote - MUST be local to Jackson/ available to come onsite as needed regularly10 Month ContractOverview:The Energy Delivery Project Management organization is responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of large projects for gas transmission and gas distribution with a particular emphasis on those investments involving large customers, reliability improvements and infrastructure modernization. The team also serves as a resource for providing key project management tools and practices for other Distribution Operations & Engineering and Transmission teams. The teams success is measured through making and meeting commitments, informing and offering customer options while delivering safe, reliable service in support of the Companys overall business strategy.The EPC Project Manager will:Plan and manage medium-to-large sized projects of moderate-to high complexityEnsure project results contribute positive business valueMeet agreed upon scope, cost, schedule and quality objectivesDevelop and maintain project plans that provide timely deliverables in order to achieve project objectivesIdentify initial risks, issues and constraints impacting project executionWork collaboratively with other functional areas in the development of project tasks and deliverables ensuring the successful execution of projectsManage multiple projects at various stages of development concurrentlyFacilitate the flow of work during a project to ensure that it conforms to the project plan covering forecasting, scoping, planning, scheduling, execution and closeoutEnsure that team members understand their authority and responsibility regarding their portion of the projectAssume project communication lead role throughout the life cycle of the projectPerform presentations for the Consumers Energy leadership teamAssist in the development of performance metrics and track performance of the projects executedValidate financial forecasts and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expendituresTo be present for team meetings as needed. Make site visits during planning and execution stages of the project.May require overtime. Skills: The selected candidate must have:5 or more years of engineering/business experience with demonstrated capability to lead medium to large scale projects, simultaneously with multiple small scale projectsProject management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlinesPlanning, organizational and leadership skillsCommunication skills including verbal, written, meeting facilitation and negotiationInterpersonal skills, including the ability to make effective presentations and communicate technical concepts to non-technical clientsA proven ability to work across departments collaboratively to resolve issues, drive projects to closure, achieve desired results/goals, and/or implement change as neededA proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguityProject Management Professional (PMP) CertificationIndividuals must have a valid driver's license.The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:Familiarity with electric or gas transmission or distribution infrastructureExperience leading complex projects, with impacts to large energy customers, municipalities, or agenciesDemonstrated success in identifying and managing riskCommunicating and reporting project status to senior leadershipEducation: A Bachelor of Science in engineering/business from an accredited college or university
