Operating at the intersection of business and technology we design, develop, and deliver sustainable solutions at pace and scale creating greater value for our customers, employees, shareholders, and society.Position Overview:BIP US is seeking to grow its US consulting team and is looking for a Managing Consultant with at least 5-10 years of urban planning and real estate development experience to join our BIP team. This consultant will be tasked with testing, confirming, advancing, and/or redirecting business strategies in commercial and maritime real estate, generally and around several specific facilities and activities, including both near-term and long-term actions. The consultant may be asked to expand upon several projects currently underway."‹Key Responsibilities:Conduct research and gather data on real estate portfolios, land use, transportation, demographics, and environmental conditions.Analyze the data and develop recommendations on successful concepts, trends, and models for real estate development, including approaches to improve the urban environment.Review and analyze current financial performance of existing real estate portfolios and deal economics and recommend adjustments.Research opportunities to improve blue economy and blue technology businesses (e.g. offshore wind, aquaculture, marine robotics; sustainability/resiliency solutions).Research best practices to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, including converting assets to all-electric.Evaluate and develop plans for urban development for employees, residents, and visitors, including management, funding, and partnerships, zoning regulations, transportation systems across all modes, and public amenities.Evaluate the effectiveness of existing plans and propose modifications as necessaryAccount for traffic growth and manage solutions for common transportation needs.Ensure that planning decisions comply with local, state, and federal regulations and policies.Work with stakeholders to understand the needs and desires of the local population and coordinate regional planning efforts for the greater good of the community.Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure that development projects are feasible and aligned with urban planning goalsMeet with industry experts to determine appropriate Disaster Risk Assessment plans for Emergency ManagementQualifications: Experience and Skills:Experience as a regional and urban planner in the past.Excellent project management abilities.Outstanding analytical abilities.Knowledge of urban spatial structure or physical design and the way in which cities work.Ability to analyze demographic information to discern trends in population, employment, and health.Knowledge of SWOT analysis, plan-making, project evaluation, and strategic prioritization.Exceptional communication skills used when meeting with stakeholders and presenting new or revised plansDetailed understanding of federal and local government programs and processesAbility to conceptualize large-scale plans and established required milestones to complete projectsProfessional work experience using a combination of creative and technical concepts in problem-solving Experience working in various database software programs including Microsoft SuiteExperience with utilizing 3D/4D Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools in a professional environment.Experience using any of the following software solutions, Autodesk-Revit Suite, ArcGIS, Google Sketchup, Google Earth Pro, TwinMotion and Adobe® Creative Suite.Education: A master's degree in urban and regional planning, environmental planning, urban design, or a related discipline is preferred.Location and Work Setup: The role is based in Boston, MA area, with a hybrid work model (remote from home with planned client visits).Candidates must have valid US work authorization.Candidates should demonstrate a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective stakeholder management to drive success.The base salary range for this role is $120,000-$160,000Benefits:Choice of medical, dental, vision insurance.Voluntary benefits.Short- and long-term disability.HSA and FSAs.Matching 401k.Discretionary performance bonus.Employee referral bonus.Employee assistance program.9 public holidays.22 days PTO.PTO buy and sell program.Volunteer days.Paid parental leave.Remote/hybrid work environment support.For more information about BIP US, visit Employment Opportunity:It is BIP US Consulting policy to provide equal employment opportunities to all individuals based on job-related qualifications and ability to perform a job, without regard to age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, color, religion, creed, national origin, disability, genetic information, veteran status, citizenship, or marital status, and to maintain a non-discriminatory environment free from intimidation, harassment or bias based upon these grounds.BIP US provides a reasonable range of compensation for our roles.
