Project Manager - Heavy Civil Construction | San Antonio, TXAbout the CompanyA rapidly growing heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team. This firm specializes in highway, bridge, underground utilities, and water/wastewater treatment plant projects. They are looking for a driven professional with a strong background in managing complex infrastructure projects in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.Position OverviewThe Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project execution, from planning and scheduling to cost control and subcontractor coordination. This role requires exceptional leadership, contract administration skills, and the ability to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing self-perform operations and working with TxDOT and municipal clients.Key ResponsibilitiesLead project teams in scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.Oversee construction operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.Review and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance.Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues proactively.Monitor costs, productivity, and progress to maintain profitability.Lead project buyout, contract negotiations, and change order management.Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, and key stakeholders.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior project staff.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.8+ years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects, including highways, bridges and utilities.Strong understanding of contract management, scheduling, and cost control.Proficiency in Primavera P6, HCSS HeavyJob, and Microsoft Project.Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.Experience with self-perform work and TxDOT/Design-Build projects is highly preferred.Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel as needed.
