Satellite Payload Engineer

PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Satellite Payload Engineer on a Direct Hire basis. This role is based out of Germantown, MD.SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Principal-level Satellite Payload Engineer to collaborate with a team of technical experts and satellite manufacturers in developing next-generation satellite payload technology for NTN-LEO applications. This role involves overseeing payload requirements, design, and manufacturing to ensure optimal performance and reliability in LEO systems.ResponsibilitiesEnsure all satellite payload requirements are met for proper operation within LEO systems by working closely with satellite manufacturers and internal engineering teams.Define and oversee objectives, specifications, and project plans to ensure efficient execution.Participate in design reviews and trade analyses to optimize satellite and constellation performance.Drive payload component selection and vendor decisions based on experience, quality, and delivery capabilities.Conduct reliability analysis to balance cost, performance, and user experience.Oversee satellite manufacturing processes, including supply chain evaluation, assembly, and testing for high-volume LEO satellite production.Required Skills15+ years of experience in commercial communication systems engineering.5+ years of experience with LEO constellations, covering specification, design, manufacturing, launch, and operations.Strong experience in reliability analysis, including component selection, manufacturing processes, and testing.5+ years of experience in the manufacturing and testing of electronically steered arrays (ESAs), Ka-band / S-band RF electronics, and terrestrial cellular technologies (including 3G/4G/5G).Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.Ability to travel periodically within North America and internationally.Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, experience with launch providers preferred.H1 sponsorship is not available.PeerSource is a nationwide technology recruiting firm that prioritizes building strong relationships with the talented professionals we are fortunate to serve.
