Principle Mechanical Design Engineer - Drilling Tools

An innovative technology company in the downhole sector are looking to hire a Principle Mechanical Design Engineer with extensive experience of developing drilling tools as part of their exciting growth in the US. This is a new role that has been created due to recent expansion and the creation of a new Houston based engineering team, so is a fantastic chance to join a team at the start of its growth.Working as part of a small global team, you will be responsible for taking drilling tool projects from concept through to commercialization over the coming years.Whilst not a "start up" business, it is a "start up" office so applicants should be comfortable with dealing with many facets of the development lifecycle from design to analysis to field testing. This role is purely focused on new product development.You should have extensive (ideally 20+ years) mechanical design experience of downhole tools within a HPHT environment, ideally with products such as LWD/MWD, RSS, drilling motors etc. Youll also have experience of leading and mentoring teams, ideally in an SME capacity.
