We seek individuals that share our passion for excellence.Business Unit/Department: EngineeringLocation: Lawrence, PAJob Description: The PSS Engineering department provides project, site and integration engineering services using Emerson's DeltaV distributed control system and other PLCs. ECI engineers leverage their expertise and knowledge of control systems to work on small- and large-scale automation systems across multiple process industries utilizing different control strategies. The Electrical Controls Engineer will work in a team environment on automation projects for installed-base customers both in the office and at customer sites.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Engineer, implement, test and commission control panels for batch and continuous control applications in the food, chemical and oil & gas industries using Emersons DeltaV control systemProvide electrical and hardware engineering support to panel design teamUnderstand project scope, schedule, budget and quality expectations, and develop solutions to meet customer needsProvide technical support for Project Management and Sales teamsDevelop high quality, well-tested and documented hardware designs to meet customer specifications, including: Functional Requirement Definition I/O Definition Control Panel Design Control Strategies System/Network Architecture Third Party InterfacesConduct integrated system testingReplace obsolete customer control systems with Emerson solutions, which includes: Assessment of existing hardware and instrumentation Specification and engineering of Emerson hardware System design and implementationSupport and coordinate Factory Acceptance/Site TestsPerform startup and commissioning functions for projects at customer sites, which include: Construction Management Loop Checks Configuration Integration with functional/failure checks Integration of Third-Party Devices/Products Loop Tuning Troubleshooting Issues Customer TrainingThe Ideal Candidate:Will possess a four-year degree in engineering or a computer discipline; emphasis will be placed on electrical engineeringHas have 5+ years of process control experience or related controls or automation experienceHas hands-on knowledge of current distributed control systems (DCS/PLC); emphasis will be placed on skills related to Emersons DeltaVHas demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and can think logically and systematicallyCan effectively read P&IDs, datasheets and electrical drawingsWill be able to configure instrumentation and valvesWill be able to program variable frequency drives.Will have a knowledge of and ability to apply NEC, NFPA, ISA, IEC, API and UL codes and standardsMust have the ability to work independently and within a team environmentMust have the ability to manage multiple projects and assignmentsMust have strong communication and customer facing abilitiesMust have an enthusiasm for learning new concepts and developing new skillsMust be willing to provide on-site support (25-50%) which may require overnight travel (10-20%)Core Competencies:WORK COLLABORATIVELY - Promote an inclusive and positive work environment that encourages collaboration and team building across all levels of the organization.
