Building on our expertise, we're once again setting our sights on the whole-genome mapping market, with a renewed focus on the human genome.Title: Senior Electrical Engineer, Instrument EngineeringOverview: Drives all phases of product development, including conceptualization, feasibility assessment, testing, documentation, Production ramp-up, and product improvement.Responsibilities:Support existing instrument production ramp-up, with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, design improvements for performance and manufacturabilityLead or support brainstorming, prototyping, fabrication, test, and debug activities to improve existing designs and bring forth next generation product ideasDevelop analog and digital circuit designsLead process improvement efforts and technology initiativesParticipate actively in design reviews, providing critical feedback and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and requirementsAssess and propose improvements to best practices, enhancing efficiency, design quality, and team workflowsProduce complete electrical design documentation packages within an established engineering change control processCollaborate with Firmware Engineers to ensure seamless integration between hardware and softwareCollaborate with Mechanical Engineers to optimize the mechanical and electrical behaviorCoordinate with Quality Assurance to meet product quality and regulatory requirementsRequirements: BS Electrical Engineering, MS preferred7+ years of relevant experienceExperience in schematic capture and PCB design, Altium preferred Proficiency in optimizing PCB designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturabilityWorking knowledge of product development processes, electronics manufacturing processes, design documentation, and quality systemsExperience developing instruments with microvolt low noise signal conditioning and acquisition, digital communications, real-time control of electro-mechanical devices, sensor interfaces, power supplies, embedded systems, and programmable devicesExperience in design optimization using design of experiments, SPICE circuit simulation, FMEA, tolerance analysis, and physical prototypingExperience with testing and mitigation for safety and regulatory compliance, including FCC, IEC, UL, TUVBackground in FDA-regulated or similar industries, with knowledge of compliance and quality standardsWorking knowledge of 3D modeling software for mechanical and electrical design collaboration, OnShape preferredDemonstrated troubleshooting skills, including root cause analysis and design improvementStrong interpersonal and communication skillsCompensation:Competitive salary and bonus structureEquity stakeBenefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k) plan with 50% match up to 6% of base salary, unlimited vacation, life insurance
