Position Title: Contract Quality ManagerReports To: General ManagerDepartment: Quality AssuranceLocation: Oxford, CTRate: $55.00-$65.00/hr.Company Overview:There is something exciting about being on the front end of product development and evolution. PTA Corporation, a plastic injection molder and tool builder, is an "entrepreneurial" manufacturer whose customers are leaders in the medical device, defense, homeland security and technology industries including Fortune 500 OEMs. Business has started to grow dramatically. And we are currently looking for an experienced Quality Manager to join our team.Major Duties and Responsibilities: Quality Management System Oversight:Ensure the effectiveness and compliance of the Quality Management System (QMS).Identify and implement areas for improvement within the QMS to support division objectives.Personnel Management:Supervise and manage Quality Assurance (QA) personnel to maintain operational efficiency and alignment with quality standards.Metrology Coordination:Oversee calibration and metrology requirements to ensure equipment accuracy and reliability in quality processes.Audit Coordination:Plan and execute internal audits to assess compliance with established procedures and standards.Facilitate external audits, including coordination with auditors and resolution of identified non-conformances.Issue Resolution:Address and resolve quality-related issues raised by customers and suppliers, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions.Reporting and Communication:Report to management on the performance and effectiveness of the QMS.Provide actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives.Job Duties:Responsible for ensuring that processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented and maintained for the division. Report to top management on concerns affecting the QMS.Assure that parts produced meet customer specifications, and requirements via inspection (incoming, in-process & final) and effective process control and monitoring. Focus culture on a zero defects goal mentality.To represent our customers regarding quality of the products produced. Get involved when quality issues are escalated and lead applicable facility through resolution of issues focusing on customer satisfaction.Coordinate metrology requirements needed to qualify/validate new tooling and modification of existing tooling to meet customer expectations. Ensure all measurements are made using effective MSA and appropriate measurement techniques. Responsible for assuring compliance to the division's quality system via coordination of all internal audit and process/system improvement activities.Responsible for facilitating resolution and communicating effective correcting actions for all customer complaints. Improve tracking of customer complaints so that they are a measure of PTA's quality, get adequate attention and timely closure resulting in customer satisfaction. Focus efforts on a goal of zero complaints.Responsible for initiating and facilitating quality/system improvement activities. Coordinate implementation of best practices between facilities.Responsible for planning, preparation and presentation of the periodic management review and subsequent reporting and follow-up on identified issues.Reporting, posting and communicating PTA's performance metrics to the work force. Work with applicable teams to improve metrics as needed to meet goals. Promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the company.Stay abreast of new and future quality programs, techniques, equipment, and training.Enforcement of all company policies and procedures.Other duties as may be assigned by the General Manager.Qualifications:Bachelors degree or equivalent (ASQ CQE or CMQ/OE). Twenty (20) years of experience in a Quality Assurance environment.Minimum of ten (10) years supervision of a Quality Assurance department.Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in an injection, molding environment.Accountabilities:Total customer satisfaction as measured by report cards, complaints, performance metrics, surveys and daily communication.Meeting requirements of ISO-9001, ISO-13485, Customer Requirements & MedAccred as applicable.AAP Statement:PTA Plastics, is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
