This translates into active involvement in a variety of activities and organizations, which provide many opportunities for education and growth for our employees.ResponsibilitiesPriorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following **Assist the Water and Wastewater Division by performing technical reviews and approval of time sensitive domestic wastewater collection and transmission systems, potable water and domestic wastewater treatment systems, FOG (Fats, Oils and Grease) control systems and OSTDS (On-site Sewage Treatment and Disposal Systems) design plans, reports, assessments and other required submittals for private and public systems in Miami-Dade County.Responsible for performing professional engineering duties.Have a thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, regulations and rules concerning permitting, design and construction of water and wastewater systems.Expedited and regular reviews of public and private projects including affordable housing and other critical developments in Miami-Dade County.RequirementsEssential Skills and **A minimum of three to five years of professional engineering experience to include design, construction, management, and permitting are required.Engineer in Training (EIT) License or State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.Consultant exercises considerable independent judgment and technical expertise.Consultant's work requires considerable knowledge of ArcGIS and Microsoft Office applications.Thorough knowledge of Miami Dade County and FDEP approval, permitting, and certification processes for water and wastewater systems.Thorough understanding of the Miami Dade County Chapter 24, Florida Administrative Code rules, and Recommended Standards for Wastewater Facilities related to the design, construction, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems.Effective verbal and written communications skills to coordinate technical reviews and activities with County staff, residents, developers, private engineers, utilities, Department of Health, FDEP, Building Departments, Public Works, Department of Transportation, municipalities, and other agencies/jurisdictions within and outside Florida.
