LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLYJob ** Project Chief - Propulsion Systems Air Induction and Exhaust The Project Chief serves as the technical program manager for one or more vehicle lines, acting as the primary liaison between the Induction and Exhaust systems design team and various functional areas including vehicle program management, engineering departments, and manufacturing. The role ensures that Air Induction and Exhaust systems meet all functional and performance requirements within specified cost, weight, investment, timing, and quality parameters.Lead air induction and exhaust systems throughout the lifecycle, from concept phase to end-of-life.Support concept studies, initial packaging, and function targets (e.g., NVH, restriction, backpressure).Conduct cost and weight analysis, oversee prototype procurement, manage suppliers, and initiate tooling.Drive validation, manage program launch, and oversee change management and quality improvement initiatives.Coordinate technical issue resolution across all stages and functional areas, supporting plant development and onsite launch activities.Act as the launch lead for Air Induction and Exhaust systems during program launch phase, managing issue triage, resolution, and resource allocation.**Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited program.Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, emphasizing automotive Air Induction and Exhaust Systems/components at an OEM or supplier.Strong leadership skills with an entrepreneurial mindset; ability to effectively persuade stakeholders.Self-sufficiency with strong influencing and leadership abilities, even without formal authority.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of managing and leading suppliers.Proficiency in managing multiple concurrent activities and some travel required within North America.Experience in program management, setting timelines, and achieving milestones.In-depth knowledge of automotive Air Induction and Exhaust components and operational principles.Ability to communicate effectively with varied audiences, including top management.Proficiency in MS Office tools and experience with automotive packaging and assembly practices.Familiarity with tooling, manufacturing processes (e.g., molding, stamping, welding), and component/system DFMEAs and DVP&Rs.Basic financial understanding to maintain program budgets.
