If youre passionate about your work and bring positivity and partnership to the job each day, lets have a conversation about what it could be like working with Chasse Building Team.Position DescriptionAs a Survey technician at CHASSE, you will play a crucial role in managing our project related survey needs, ensuring the accuracy and quality of survey data, and facilitating effective communication among project teams and trade partners. You will be responsible for a wide range of survey-related tasks requiring technical expertise, AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency, and a dedication to work along side Chasse and our trade partners as one cohesive team.The field/office technician will have 2-4 years construction layout experience. Must be familiar with control principles, equipment setup and precision layout utilizing robotic total stations, GPS units and their associated controllers. Should have strong understanding of interpreting a plan set and determining tolerance of various tasks to perform quality checks and measurements. Experience with Civil 3D, scanners and drones a plus. This role offers quality control and assurance to a wide array of projects. As such- strengthening your ability to problem solve, communicate clearly and work as an integral part of a team will be an important part of each days workload.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Survey Coordination: Collaborate with superintendents, project managers and other project team members to identify survey needs and task scheduling for each project.Field Operations: Perform construction layout using the latest surveying equipment, ensuring accurate measurements and data collection. Primary tasks include survey control planning and resolution, civil site layout, grid line layout and as-built collection with a strong focus on quality control.AutoCAD Civil 3D: Create detailed survey control documentation to be shared with the project team for layout coordination, compile civil and architectural base drawings to facilitate calculation of site layout, draft as-built exhibits using collected field data to communicate QC needs and results of checks performed in the field.Quality Assurance: Compare and review plan set and CAD and data for accuracy and completeness and implement quality control measures to maintain the highest standards.Team Communication: Effectively communicate survey findings, project updates, and scheduling requirements with project teams and trade partners, fostering a collaborative work environment.Technical Expertise: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in surveying technology and techniques, implementing best practices in surveying operations.Train Others: Provide training regarding equipment use, best practice and quality processes to Chasse project team members and our trade partners.Qualifications: Proven track record using GPS equipment and Total Stations to perform construction surveying, including experience in site control, layout and verification of structures, grading, utility installations and as-built data reviewKnowledge of geodetic surveying principles and the ability to work with coordinate systems, datums and transformations to establish project controlsProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D including the ability to perform field calculation or prepare drafted exhibits and other record documentationExperience processing and analyzing survey data using survey controller software such as Trimble, MAGNET Field or similar to manage project data, create points, upload line work and provide calculated positions in the fieldStrong ability to adapt to changing needs of individual construction projectsExcellent communication skills and strong team driven approach to project coordinationAttention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality resultsAbility to work effectively as an individual or to work with and train others as neededUnderstanding of safety protocols and practices on construction sites to ensure the well-being of project teams and compliance with regulationTechnical Preferences (Not Required): Scanning: Familiarity with remote sensing technologies, including LiDAR scanning and scan control principles for efficient data capture and analysis.Software Integration: Experience in integrating survey data with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other project management software.Benefits:You own it - CHASSE is 100% teammate-owned!Competitive Salary and BonusesMedical, Dental, and Vision PlansHealth Savings and Dependent CareShort-Term and Long-Term Disability (company provided)Life InsuranceMatching 401KOpen Vacation Policy and Family LeavePerks:Eco-friendly, open concept ofï¬ces with standing desksTwo annual CHASSE staycations, a camping trip, and numerous team-building eventsCelebrate your 5-year CHASSE-iversary with a custom bobblehead we design to look like you doing the things you loveCelebrate your 11-year CHASSE-iversary with a sabbatical and a CHASSE orange suitcase to help send you off to your vacation destinationComprehensive Training and Career development opportunities... and tons more!You have to come check us out - apply today!
