======================================THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD======================================Job SummaryAs a member of the Freedom Space team, you will contribute to the successful execution of the Enterprise Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Solution (EOS), a cutting-edge program to enhance the missile warning capabilities of the U.S. Space Force. EOS integrates advanced satellite systems, ground-based infrastructure, and innovative software solutions to detect and track missile launches globally with unparalleled speed and precision. It builds on the legacy of OPIR technology by integrating modern architectures to provide resilient and real-time missile threat detection in contested environments. The project ensures a robust and interoperable system capable of meeting emerging threats, aligning with the Space Force's mission to maintain space domain superiority and bolster national security.As a DevSecOps Engineer on the EOS project, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and efficient CI/CD pipelines that drive the delivery of mission-critical software for the U.S. Government missile defense system. You will leverage your expertise in Platform One tools and security practices to develop robust pipelines that enable automated code integration, testing, and deployment. You will implement gating mechanisms, ensure code quality, detect CVEs, and maintain compliance with strict security standards. This role demands a deep understanding of DevSecOps principles, automation, and best practices, along with a strong commitment to delivering secure, high-quality software. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance workflows and optimize development lifecycles is a critical aspect of this position. Your efforts will directly contribute to building a secure and reliable software ecosystem to support the EOS mission.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and SonarQubeAutomate software build, testing, and deployment processes to ensure efficient and reliable delivery of mission-critical applicationsDevelop and implement gating mechanisms to enforce code quality, security standards, and compliance requirementsMonitor and address Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) to maintain the security integrity of the software and platformCollaborate with software development and platform teams to integrate security practices throughout the development lifecycle Enhance pipeline observability and troubleshoot issues to ensure seamless integration and rapid deployment processesOptimize performance and scalability of build and deployment systems to meet operational and mission-critical demandsImplement tools and workflows to monitor and manage code quality, ensuring high standards are consistently metConduct regular security assessments and audits of the CI/CD pipelines and deployed environmentsDocument processes, workflows, and security practices to maintain transparency and facilitate team-wide adoptionStay up to date on DevSecOps best practices and emerging tools to continuously improve pipeline capabilities and security postureProvide expertise and training to cross-functional teams on secure DevOps practices and toolsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical fieldMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or related roles, with a focus on CI/CD and pipeline securityExpertise in designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platformsProficiency in SonarQube for code quality and static security analysisStrong experience with gating mechanisms to enforce build integrity and quality standardsSolid understanding of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) and vulnerability managementHands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools for environment automation, e.g. TerraformProficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.Strong understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as KubernetesStrong knowledge of cloud platforms and secure deployment strategiesUnderstanding of Shift Left Security principles to integrate security early in the development lifecycleFamiliarity with DevSecOps frameworks and compliance standards such as NIST RMF or DoD STIGs.Experience with static and dynamic code analysis, vulnerability scanning tools, and penetration testing frameworksStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced, mission-critical environmentExcellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teamsAbility to document workflows, tools, and processes clearly and comprehensivelyDevOps-related certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similarSecurity certifications, e.g. CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)Must possess or be eligible for a Top-Secret ClearanceTooling ExperienceCoding: Java, Rust, Python, or other languagesFramework: Spring Boot, MDPAF APIs: REST, gRPCProgram-specific tools: VMOC, OASYS, C2MSSatellite standards: XTCE, ADCCP, ACES, STKC2: Horizon, Quantum CMDInfrastructure: Terraform, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Istio, KeyCloak, AWSPipeline: Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD, Gradle, SonarQube, NexusDatabase: Postgres, Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK)About Our CompanyEstablished in 2023, Freedom Space is a wholly owned subsidiary of ATLAS Space Operations, the leading Ground Software as a Serviceâ„¢ (GSaaS) provider.
