Must Have: 9+ years of experience in environmental consulting 6+ years of project or program management experience for project that involve various aspects of environmental compliance Experience handing the project scope, schedule, and budget, proposal, resource planning etc.Experience overseeing technical engineering tasks Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required with in-depth knowledge of California and federal environmental regulationsComfortability and experience with Business Development responsibilities such as a history of strong client relationships and the ability to provide high-end technical advisory support and win new contractsLicense: Civil Professional Engineer (PE)Day to Day: A client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior Program Manager to join their environmental team in Southern California. This role involves managing environmental projects, serving as the primary contact for key regional clients, and leading project management, technical execution, and business development. The candidate should have a strong background in assessment and remediation and will be based in the San Diego headquarters.Key responsibilities include:Partner with the SoCal Environmental Service Line Manager and team to deliver projects on time and within budget.Prepare proposals, ensuring proper scoping of services, and maintaining profitability.Conduct analysis of environmental data from complex environmental an/or hydrogeologic investigations, familiarity with remediation systems, and regulatory compliance.Collaborate and provide environmental support to our other Geotechnical, Civil Design, Water, CoMet, and Construction Services groups.Mentor and oversee staff environmental scientists, geologists, and engineers.Oversee and manage the success of the key team metrics of retention, revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and project profitability.Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risks. Employ best practices for risk management and loss prevention. Be familiar with company risk policiesPossess strong understanding/working-knowledge with San Diego Department of Health, Regional Water Quality Control Boards, CEQA/NEPA, and California Department of Toxic Substances Control; experience working with US Navy is a plus.Develop an Operations Plan and business development strategy to grow the environmental service line.Participate in business development activities to identify and secure new project opportunities and maintain client relationships.Lead daily operations with a focus on safety, staff development, and quality of services.
