EstimatorOur client is looking for an Estimator who will play a critical role in the success of their projects by preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates for industrial and cold storage construction projects. ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for industrial and cold storage construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work to ensure that all requirements are accounted for in the estimate.Conduct site visits and assess project conditions to evaluate potential challenges and opportunities for cost optimization.Analyze historical data and market conditions to establish realistic cost projections.Collaborate with the project management team to develop project schedules and budgets.Work closely with clients, architects, and subcontractors to review project scopes and develop proposals.Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and ensure alignment with project needs.Perform value engineering to identify opportunities for cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality or safety.Provide ongoing support throughout the construction process, assisting with cost tracking and managing change orders.Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.Maintain accurate and organized records of all estimates, change orders, and related documentation.Track and report on project performance, identifying potential issues early and recommending corrective actions.QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of experience in estimating, with a focus on industrial and cold storage construction projects.Strong knowledge of cold storage construction methods, including refrigeration systems, insulation, and specialized materials.Experience with construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, Sage, Buildertrend, or similar platforms).Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents to prepare comprehensive estimates.Strong understanding of construction materials, labor, and equipment costs.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.OSHA certification or equivalent (preferred).About Scott-HumphreyWe are a national recruitment practice specializing in Construction, Real Estate, Legal, Pharma/Med Device, Digital Marketing, Creative, & Shared Services recruitment.
