New sales representatives build a book of business from scratch. This role is responsible for generating new business by selling transportation and logistics services to companies across a large geographic area, often by building relationships with potential customers and finding ways to meet their freight hauling needs using the companys trucking fleet. This role will prospect, qualify, and strategically pursue new business nationwide through cold calling and emailing shippers that consistently move products.Once NSRs have cultivated a book of business and seamlessly onboarded new customers "” which may take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on numerous factors "” they have to manage these relationships. NSRs act as the customer's liaison within ATS Logistics and work hard to ensure customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities of a national sales representative in **** Identifying and reaching out to new potential customers who require freight transportation services. Relationship ***** Cultivating strong relationships with existing clients to maintain their business and increase their shipping volume. Sales ***** Presenting the companys transportation solutions and pricing structures to potential customers. Negotiating ***** Working with clients to reach agreements on pricing and service terms. Customer ***** Addressing customer concerns and ensuring smooth shipment delivery. Market ***** Staying informed about industry trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities. Sales ***** Tracking sales performance and providing updates to management. Qualified candidate MUST have prior outside sales experience calling on businesses who have flatbed/specialized logistics needs.Requires routine sales travel to visit new and existing customers in the Territory.Must have and maintain a clean driving record and have a valid driver's license.Execute timely preparation of all expense reports, call reports, travel planners, ensure that databases are current and updated with accurate customer information, and assigned projects in a timely manner.Maintains and updates customer database, customer contacts, price levels, reviews / analyzes customer sales reports, identifies and takes appropriate action to grow sales based on related information.*****The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
