Job Summary:Allied Product Specialist is responsible for supporting Sales Representatives in material handling and storage product categories, including but not limited to: pallet racking accessories, equipment guarding, rack inspection and repair, scissor lifts, sweeper/scrubbers, carts, and lift devices. This individual receives a sales opportunity from a Sales Rep, helps identify a product to meet the customer's needs, and develops a quote to present to the customer. The Allied Product Specialist coordinates internal resources to provide pre and post sales service and support to our customers.Duties/Responsibilities:Maintain knowledge of available products commonly used in warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities.Coordinate with Customers, Vendors, Sales Coordinators, and Account Managers to provide resources to provide pre and post sales service and support.Develop relationships with existing suppliers and cultivate new relationships as it relates to material handling and storage products.Develop and present actionable strategies to our customers in the support of the products and services we offer.Make equipment recommendations and offer material handling solutions.Prepare proposals and presentations to support the sales process.Maintain internal customer information.Create and maintain a directory of contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.Keep up with market trends to ensure proper pricing and estimates.Maintain accurate and timely log of all sales activity.Core Competencies:Collaboration: Teamwork is in our DNA as we break down silos and prioritize cross-functional synergies, while utilizing an innovative, out-of -the box problem solving approach. Required Skills/Abilities: Requires strong time management, organizational, and communication capabilities.Ability to develop and execute a plan with limited supervision.Excellent communications skills: written, verbal, and listening.Must be comfortable supporting in-person and video meetings with customers to discuss sales opportunities.Must exhibit detail orientation and ability to manage multiple priorities.Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and CRM, computer programsEducation and Experience:College degree not required but is a plus.5 years minimum previous experience in inside sales, warehouse, or distribution center environment.Previous experience may be substituted for formal training.Pallet racking and material handling equipment experience preferred.Ability to read basic engineering drawings and use standard tools for identifying dimensions, angles, tolerances.Basic computer design skills (such as AutoCAD) is a plus.Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to travel. Must be able to continuously talk, hear and speak with good articulation and voice control. Must be able to use fingers and hands to handle, feel and reach with hands and arms to lift, file and handle inventory.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment under significant stress and meet high performance demands.Ability to stand and walk for 3 hours. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Must be able to lift, bend, twist, kneel, crouch, crawl continuously.Possess a valid drivers license with the ability to drive 4 hours. Some overnight travel may be required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment:Works in a variety of customer environments including manufacturing, distribution, cold storage, and outdoors with exposure to elements. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards and dangerous chemical/solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed. This position also entails the necessity to work after normal working hours or on weekends based on customer need. Works under normal office conditions where required to sit for extended periods of time. Regularly spend significant amounts of time working in front of a computer terminal or in interactions with various people. Some travel may be required.
